+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Hey guys, Trevor here, and in this video I'm going to show you how to turn off subtitles or closed captions on YouTube. It's pretty quick and easy, so let's jump right in. Now let's just open up YouTube here, and I have my channel, and say the closed captions or subtitles are turned on, I'll show you how to turn them off while you're watching the video. So let's just watch this video that I just posted here. Now I'm going to pause it, and at the very top right here you can see those three dots. Tap on those three dots, and then right under quality it shows captions, and the captions are currently off, and I can tap on that. If they're on English auto-generated you can see at the bottom of the screen there, there's the subtitles that pop up. However, again if I go back to it, I can switch it to auto-translate if I wanted to switch it to say, I want to switch it to French, it will switch the closed captions or subtitles to French, or I can always go there and just turn them off if I don't want subtitles. Now keep in mind, let's go back one more time, and it says at the very bottom here to keep captions on by default, adjust captions visibility in your device settings, and there's a little link here. So you can tap that link, and the frustrating thing is on the iPhone it takes you to this page where there's no adjusting of the closed captions on the settings. My guess is on Android this does work, and it takes you to the settings in Android that lets you adjust whether the default closed captions are either on or off. Hope this helps, let us know if you have any questions in the comments below, and make sure to subscribe. Thanks.
