Speaker 1: In this video, I'm going to introduce MaxQDA's Automatic Transcription Tool. We've been waiting for it for a long time, and since MaxQDA 24, there is now an Automatic Transcription Tool integrated into MaxQDA. It's called MaxQDA Transcription, and it's part of the AI Assist block. So it's available to all those who agree to use artificial intelligence in their choice of license. The first 60 minutes of transcriptions are free if you want to try it out, and then it works by buying time credits. You can check the price in your currency on their site, but it's very, very affordable when you consider the time and the price it takes to make a manual transcription. So to use the transcription tool, if you go to your document list, under documents, and transcribe audio file, see you have the manual option, and you have transcribe automatically with MaxQDA transcription. So you have to go to MaxQDA's webpage. That's the procedure for now. I expect it to be simplified in the future, but in any case, it's going to be all explained in a window when you select automatic transcription. But for now, you have to go to MaxQDA's website. So this is your account on MaxQDA's website. You can create one if you don't have one. The account is free, and in here, you can upload your audio or video file, and in here, you choose the parameters, so you can choose the language, and a nice addition is that if there are any unusual words, nouns, or expressions in your document, you can write them down here so they will be better detected and spelled. So next, you start the transcription here, and the status of your transcription is going to be displayed here. And once the file is ready, you can download it from here. Once you have downloaded your file on your computer, you can go back to MaxQDA, come back here, and in here, see importing existing transcript. So everything is going to be linked. So you have the little blocks here that are going to link your transcription to your audio file so you can navigate between the two. If you're happy with the 60-minute trial, and you want to buy more credit, it's on the same webpage. What else? To do a transcription with MaxQDA Transcription, it takes around 20% of the recording time. So if you have a one-hour recording, it's going to take about 12 minutes to do the transcription. And MaxQDA Transcription is available in 45 different languages, so plenty of choice. Of course, like all automatic transcription tools, it's never a 100% accurate transcription, and you will still have to proofread it. But with MaxQDA's manual transcription tools, proofreading and corrections are really quick and convenient. And also the fact that you can write any specific vocabulary or unusual words in the transcription setting windows, as we've seen, it really helps. And also the detection of accents is really good. So it's not 100% accurate, but it's still really, really, really good. I've tried it, a lot of my colleagues have tried it, and liked it a lot. I can show you some examples here on another project. The transcriptions I'm going to show you are the ones from MaxQDA Transcription. I haven't changed anything or didn't make any modifications here. It's just the work of MaxQDA Transcription. So the first one is with quite a light accent and a good recording quality. This one.
Speaker 2: Hoping to get a job in sports marketing. I know it's a tough field to get a good job in, but Indiana University has a really good
Speaker 3: program and the placement program is not bad at all.
Speaker 1: So you can see that it's really good, even without any modifications. And the second example I can show you has a stronger accent and a really, really bad recording quality. And you're going to see that the results are really good. So you can see that it's quite impressive considering the quality of the recording. So that's it for MaxQDA Transcription. Give it a try if you want with the free 60 minutes and see what you think of it.
