[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Protests in Iran that erupted 12 days ago over the state of the economy and have since morphed into anti-regime protests and have spread like a wildfire across the country appear to be gaining even more momentum. Video that has been trickling out of Iran on Thursday night showed crowds on the streets of different parts of the capital Tehran as well as other cities in the country. This despite a crackdown that according to activists has killed more than 40 protesters including children with more than 2000 protesters detained. Now this is happening at the same time as we are getting reports of a blackout, a communication blackout across the country and a lot of fear about what that might signal whether we are going to be seeing an intensifying crackdown by the regime as we have seen during previous protests in the country. This as President Trump once again has threatened to intervene if Iran kills protesters.
