Israeli Army Erects Barricades Around Hezma Roads (Full Transcript)

[00:00:00] Speaker 1: This is the Israeli army bulldozer which has been building barricades all day here around the neighbourhood of Hezma. The army came in and started building these barricades. You can see how they've piled up the rubble to block the road there so that cars can't get in or out. They've told people here that the shops will have to be closed. These notices have been littered around the neighbourhood saying that this is because of terrorist activity in this area and that there will be a prolonged operation by Israel's military, it says, to guarantee security. But for Palestinians, this is the everyday disruption to life and people don't know how long this will last for.

[00:00:41] Speaker 2: Bad feelings, bad situation and it's not the first time, there's many times. If you do anything here, or try to do anything here, the Israeli soldiers take you to jail.

[00:00:55] Speaker 1: How often are things like this happening, what does that do to your business?

[00:00:58] Speaker 3: Many times, several times, many times, maybe every two months or one month.

[00:01:06] Speaker 1: You can see how determined people are that they won't be stopped from getting through in and out of this town. Every other road is blockaded, either with barricades like this or gates being closed and controlled by the army. And presumably the soldiers, the bulldozers, will return to rebuild this.
