[00:00:00] Speaker 1: My main function in the days to come, my function as a man, as a deputy, as President of this National Assembly, will be to resort to all the procedures, to all the tribunes and to all the spaces to bring back Nicolás Maduro Moro, my brother, my President.

[00:00:28] Speaker 2: This is Jorge Rodríguez. Here he is being sworn in as President of Venezuela's National Assembly, a role which he has held since 2021.

[00:00:38] Speaker 1: I swear by the country. I swear by the bravery and the blood shed by our soldiers and soldiers who fell in the abominable acts of January 3rd. I swear by my life that our country deserves it.

[00:01:03] Speaker 2: Rodríguez is part of a powerful duo in Venezuelan politics, his sister Vice President Delcy Rodríguez having just been appointed as Venezuela's interim President. They also come from a political family, their father having been a Marxist politician who was involved in the kidnapping of an American businessman.
