London Embassy Protest Highlights Iran Unrest (Full Transcript)

[00:00:00] Speaker 1: In London, a protester tore down the Iranian flag from the country's embassy and hoisted Iran's pre-revolution flag. The pre-revolution flag features a lion and sun symbol in the middle. This flag is popular among some in the Iranian diaspora who oppose the country's current regime. Since Iran's revolution in 1979, the flag of the Islamic Republic has featured a stylized tulip with the phrase Allahu Akbar along the flag's stripes. London's Metropolitan Police say two people have been arrested, one for alleged aggravated trespass and assault on an emergency worker, and the other was for alleged aggravated trespass. The anti-government protests are the most widespread to take place in Iran in years. Dozens of people have died and thousands have been arrested in the past two weeks of protests according to a U.S.-based human rights group. Officials have imposed an internet blackout, but one Tehran resident told CNN protests have continued.
