So you're most welcome to the family. So throughout this course, our focus this time around is learning video editing with OpenShort. So throughout this presentation, we're going to basically look at the introduction to OpenShort. You know, we're going to look at the video editing overview. We shall look at the course structure where we shall delve deeper. We shall also look at why we chose OpenShort. You know, you might be wondering, there are a lot of other video editing softwares like Adobe Premium and the likes, then you might be wondering why did we choose, you know, OpenShort of all this. Then we shall have a conclusion of the presentation today. So let's look at the introduction. Let me take this opportunity to welcome you once more to this course. That is the, you know, OpenShort video editing course for beginners. And of course, this course does not only focus on somebody who is, you know, green about video editing. It's perfect for somebody who has no understanding of video editing completely. But at the same time, if you have some little understanding, of course, it will be to advantage. So if you're completely new, worry not, we're starting everything from scratch. If you're coming here to sharpen your skill, well and good. So we have designed this course with our team and having your consideration in mind. The course was designed to help you to master the essentials within a very short period of time. Like, you know, you don't need to struggle learning it for a long time, you know, in the shortest time, I believe every lesson will have an impact on how or the level of the content you will have mastered. So let's look at the video editing overview. So we all understand that video editing is a powerful and creative skill that can improve your life. As in, we have a lot of these days due to technology, there's a lot of wave on the internet, whereby almost everything is done on the internet, marketing internet, passing communication using the internet. And therefore, there's a lot of need for multimedia. Then when we talk about multimedia, we are talking about videos, of course, we need to understand. So it is important for you to understand how you can, you know, edit videos, there is taking videos which you can use your mobile handsets or cameras, then there is also editing. So it's important for you to have the skill. Now test you're having, whether you want to be working on personal projects, whether you want to be working on social media, like how some people do content creation, whether you want to do it for professional purpose, whereby you're a professional video editor. So this is the perfect course for you. When we talk about professional video editor, we mean you work strictly with videos, maybe in video production, like for music, you know, like for movies and whatsoever. Then you can just do it for your own blog or something like that. Or even you can do it like mine for course creation. So this course will guide you through the basics of video editing using OpenShort. Of course, we shall be mixing with some, you know, some more advanced features. But basically, we are looking at the real beginner level. So most of our things will be at the basic level. So our course structure is simple. We shall look at, you know, start by setting or installing the, you know, the software and we shall look at its features, how the interface works and everything. We shall look at some core editing skills. We shall cut, trim, you know, add transitions here and there. We shall also look at some advanced features like, you know, effects, overlays, how we can edit audios around there when you're working with a video set. So all this will be throughout this course. And of course, like I said, there is no need for prior experience. Of course, if you have some prior experience, it's to your advantage. However, if it's not there, don't worry. I have you sorted. I'll make sure that at every bit you're able to understand and you graduate as a polished student who is a very good video editor. So and you'll be able to make videos which you can share on platforms like, you know, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and whatsoever you feel like. And I cannot only stop by looking at the structure. So also our learning model at iFED Technologies, we deploy a very unique learning principle, which is the 70-20-10 principle. So what do I mean by this? By 70-20-10, what we're trying to say is for me as an instructor, you're going to get 10% of learning, then you get 20% of the learning from interacting with your peers, then 70% of learning. Our course is project tailored. You know, we focus on building your skill rather than the method of learning. Yes, you love course content, which you read and you'll need to do extensive research. Of course, we have done our best to develop the best modules for you out there. But we believe in community. You cannot only learn from me. I give you the guides. Then the 20%, you know, you share knowledge with your colleagues. That's why I always ask you guys to, you know, if there's any question, ask it on the public forum. Somebody else might help you out or your question might also support another person. So always make use of the platforms, maybe in the comment section here, or you can put your comment there to ask questions, or you can simply, you know, have conversation in the WhatsApp group. You can raise your question there. Somebody might be having the same issue like you. It's normal. That's part of learning. So always do that. We encourage that. That will boost your learning. Then 70% will be personal projects. Take projects as much as possible. Always do the hardest. You know, it's good. Like people who are successful are people who do hard things. If you want to do cheap things or simple things, you know, everybody can do that. So always take on projects and learn ahead. So that's the essence of the 70, 20, 10. Not everything will come from me, but it's depending on your willingness and need to learn. That's when we can achieve something. So why did we choose OpenShort? Yeah, it's interesting. We chose OpenShort. One, it is free. It is an open source software. For some of you who are so much familiar with technology, you understand what open source software means. I don't want to go into that. But anyway, for some of us who might not be having a better understanding, open source software is a software which is available for free. They don't have licenses. Like there are no regulations. You don't pay some price to get them. So you get them free. So like I said, we wanted to offer a free course. We will not offer a free course with a paid software. So the best way is we have to support our community by looking at a system which is free. That's why we chose open source. Another reason is it is accessible and lightweight. What do I mean by lightweight? You know, most softwares which deal with graphics, they're heavy. They need resource. I mean, they are resource intensive. So of all the options, I tried checking around. Open source was one. I mean, open short was one which is a little bit lightweight and can be run on almost all types of machines. I mean computers, even if those with the lower RAM and storage and specs, it can still run on them, unlike others which may not run here. So it's also perfect for beginners. Because what are we looking at here? We're looking at people starting the journey of video editing. So it's better to learn with a system which has user friendly interface, you know, and also for intermediate users. Of course, I'm not saying that advanced users cannot use it. But this is the most fairest, which has a slightly easy learning curve compared to the rest. So it also allows you to learn and apply video editing techniques without any cost. I remember initially I wanted to do this course around CapCut. Then I realized all the features are paid. Most of the features are paid. So that would not be a good option because we cannot offer a free course while people are buying the software. So we just wanted to do everything which is free and more so a system which is light, which can allow anyone to be able to access without paying anything. So with this, we are coming to the end of this video. Thank you so much for making this choice. I am Michael Bofadirand. I'm the founder of iFed Technologies. So I'll personally be taking you throughout this course. So welcome to this course and we hope to see you throughout the journey. And we believe you will achieve your purpose or the goal for coming into this. Stay blessed. And of course, we shall be meeting throughout this course. Until the end, I will be your personal instructor.
