[00:00:00] Speaker 1: may you be well. After 109 days, the Buddhist monks have made it to the Lincoln Memorial, closing out an incredible journey all on foot, 2,300 miles all the way from Texas. Hundreds of people are here on the National Mall where they are gathering for their concluding ceremony. This peace gathering, which has brought people from all over the country, who have seen clips of the monks or have followed them along their journey as they've hit different states, and are here for the message of peace, love, and kindness that they are spreading. They are trying to raise awareness about mindfulness and inner peace, which they say comes from within.

[00:00:41] Speaker 2: We all want to create a nation and a world which will embody peace.

[00:00:48] Speaker 3: It's a once in a lifetime experience. The joy and the calm that they just seem to instill on everyone. I just started to watch it and just got obsessed with their message and the meaningfulness behind it and just realized that I don't live a peaceful life and wanted to be a, maybe I could do that.

[00:01:10] Speaker 4: I just think that I've been struggling with everything that's been, the nightly news, everything that's going on right now in our world. I think a lot of people are very hungry for something positive and reassuring to let us know that there are people that want the same things that we do. When the head monk took you, takes you through a meditation, it was so, I couldn't believe how quickly I felt calm and at peace.

[00:01:34] Speaker 5: I think our country is really hurting right now. We need some positive messages of kindness. This is just the perfect time for this. Good things happen at the right time.

[00:01:44] Speaker 1: Tomorrow they will close out this journey officially by making their way back to Fort Worth, Texas, but this time they won't have to do it on foot.
