Speaker 1: Okay, oh my god, it's 6.30. Where's Sandy? I need to get started. I'll be behind on my day. Sandy, come on. Hey, Sandy. You know what, I've been waiting for you for the last half an hour here. I've been busy. Bad night. Really? Was it that busy? Yeah, it was pretty busy. Looks like you had a rough night. It was rough. A lot of patience.

Speaker 2: So let's just get started so we can get this done. Betty in 304. She has a broken hip. Betty in 304? She used to be in 302.

Speaker 1: When did they move her room? I worked here last evening. She was in 302.

Speaker 2: You're right. She's not. She's in 302 with a broken hip. And I gave her aspirin eight hours ago for pain.

Speaker 1: But she, I think they're suspecting hip fracture on it. We can do aspirin on someone with fracture. You know what? Are you sure?

Speaker 2: No, you're right again. I gave her Norco. But I don't know if I gave her one or two. I'll have to check on that. I'll get back with you. I'll check it. Is it on more? Yeah, it should be. I'll check it. That's okay. John is in there with her. What?

Speaker 1: John. They're not husband and wife. He's a different patient. He used to be in 306. Yeah, he is. You're right again. You know what, honey? You have to go home and take rest.

Speaker 2: I have to document first. You should go home. You had a rough night. I got to document and then I'll go home. But thank you. You just go on down that way and take care of it.

Speaker 1: Let me see the call light.

Speaker 3: Hi. How may I help you? Where is my pain medicine? I've been asking since 2 a.m. for that crazy nurse you guys have.

Speaker 4: She was terrible. I don't know if you typically work with her or what the deal is. But she was giving her the wrong medication. Called her the wrong name. Let me confirm. Was it Sandy you're talking about?

Speaker 3: I don't know that redhead that's wandering around here.

Speaker 4: With her shoes untied. She's a mess.

Speaker 3: Yes. And I'm still waiting on my pain medicine. Is there somebody? Are you in charge? Yes, I'm incoming nurse so I'll take care of your pain medicine. Do you guys have a boss here that we can talk to? I feel okay but I'm scared of other people that she might be taken care of.

Speaker 1: What else did she give you? She didn't give you pain medicine.

Speaker 3: She hasn't given me my pain medicine. She gave me the wrong medication. Thank God she was here because it was in the middle of the night. Maybe you were half asleep. No. My daughter looked at everything.

Speaker 4: I always give her her medication. I know what they look like. I know the names of them. And we had to stop her afterwards. We're like what was that that you gave her? And she's like well it was on her chart.

Speaker 1: I'm sorry that happened to you but she's been here for 10 years and she's really experienced. She oriented me so I doubt she made a mistake.

Speaker 4: Can you get somebody in charge?

Speaker 1: Sure, I'll talk to the charge nurse and see what we can do. Yes, we need to talk to somebody please.

Speaker 4: Hi, what's going on? Hi. My mom last night, the nurse that she had was calling her the wrong name. Gave her some medication that she doesn't typically take. I mean she was a mess. I don't even know if she's going to have a reaction. She has a couple of allergies.

Speaker 3: I asked for pain medication at 2am and we still haven't seen the pain medication. And your nurse that was in here just a minute ago, a little bit ago, was defending her. And was acting like she didn't want to go get somebody to help us.

Speaker 5: Let me look into some things and I'll get back with you. Okay, thank you. Hi. Tracy. Hi.

Speaker 1: Tell me what's going on with your patient. She complained of pain and she said she didn't receive pain medicine last night from Sandy. So I doubt it. I don't know. I'll have to check. Well what do you think? You know what, this has been going on for so many days but I didn't want to be in all that drama so I didn't report it to you. But she has been acting weird and this morning when we were doing reports she was so scared. She was telling wrong room numbers for every patient, wrong meds. And you know what, I could smell some abnormal thing from her mouth. Let me go talk to her. I don't want to go into this drama so I was just staying out of it. Okay, I'll go talk to her. Okay.

Speaker 5: Hi Sandy. I heard you had a rough night. It was. Yeah? Yeah, pretty rough. A lot of patients.

Speaker 2: What's going on here? Well, I'm documenting right now.

Speaker 5: Well, um, I've got some concerns. Oh, oh my. Oh, shoot. Oh, yeah. Oh, there goes the computer. Sandy, I think we're finished. I'm going to have you clock out.

Speaker 2: I got, no, I got to document it first.

Speaker 5: We'll take care of it. Don't worry. I've got a ride to get you home. I can drive myself home. I've got some concerns here. If you're going to make me leave, I can drive. No. I've got some concerns here and I want to make sure you get home safe. Um, but tomorrow afternoon when you come in, before you clock in, you need to come see me. We need to take care of some things. Everything's good. Alright, Sandy. We'll take care of it. But it's time to go home.

Speaker 1: Simulation is over. Simulation is over.
