+1 (831) 222-8398[00:00:05] Speaker 1: There's a nun in the front row, which I've never seen at a concert. We went on tour with a world-famous DJ, who also happens to be a Catholic priest. Padre Guillermo Peixoto and his team took us behind the scenes for a couple of concerts in Chile. He's now thousands back into these electronic dance music concerts, and they greet him like a rock star.
[00:00:35] Speaker 2: When someone wants a photo, wants a selfie, for me it's always strange.
[00:00:39] Speaker 1: Padre Guillermo is from Portugal. He was in his teens when he entered seminary and says since he could remember, he's had a calling to the priesthood. But he's also always loved electronic music. 19, 20 years old.
[00:00:52] Speaker 2: I started going to some clubs, listening to music, it was nice. YouTube is how you learned how to DJ.
[00:00:59] Speaker 1: Yes, on the beginning. He told me he wanted to figure out how to blend his faith with electronic music, and you can see that at his concerts.
[00:01:06] Speaker 2: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
[00:01:09] Speaker 1: Padre Guillermo started showing off his DJ skills at small church festivals to help raise money for his parish, but his following kept growing and growing. Has it been a good experience? Yeah, it's been amazing. It's been amazing. Padre Guillermo has since launched his own record label, and he's now focused on growing music ministry within the church. Oh, and his debut album is expected out sometime this year.
[00:01:36] Speaker 2: It's important that you can use, I think, our talents to make Jesus be present in the society. Thank you for everything. God bless you.
