+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: The first time I heard about Reduct, it was recommended to me by a director I work closely with and I was a little skeptical about what it was capable of. But after a day of working on it, I literally texted him saying there's no going back.
Speaker 2: One of the biggest issues when you're working with a client is there's always a lot of back and forth. With Reduct, both the client and the filmmaker can simultaneously be looking at the footage. They can literally say I want this sentence in the commercial and then we can easily link that clip and put it into the next cut.
Speaker 3: These days we've been finding we work a lot more remotely and to have a group of people be able to connect through the Reduct software has been really helpful because we can all work from anywhere.
Speaker 1: You don't have to be an experienced editor, you don't have to have a hard drive. In the past you had to work and sit down together, but Reduct simply allows you to connect with the editor by logging on, making selects, highlighting, and creating your own reels and in a sense creating your own story to share with the team.
Speaker 2: There could be something on the tip of your tongue that you know was in the interview and you can't remember exactly what it was. But if you have an idea, you can start working your way to where that might be. And then you can go and you're like, oh wow, yes, this is exactly what I wanted. I hit the nail on the head and that right there alone took me probably 30 seconds. And if I didn't have that, the hours upon hours upon hours of searching for that would have drove me insane.
Speaker 1: So what's super cool about Reduct is they offer a plugin that you can install onto Premiere where it will take the footage that you bring in and upload it to Reduct and begin the transcription process for you. You can actually construct an entire reel on the browser through Reduct and then easily bring it back into Premiere and start from there as a baseline for the edit.
Speaker 3: That wasn't something that was available to us in the past. You're kind of searching in the dark a little bit. And Reduct adds a little bit of light to that process because it allows you to navigate a little bit further into the story by seeing it in a different perspective.
