+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Hi everybody, this is Seth Ressler, the digital dot connector for Jacob's Media, and in this I am going to demonstrate the brand new feature that was just unveiled by Spotify using Anchor, the podcast creation software that they acquired, which now allows basically anybody anywhere to create a podcast that includes music in the podcast episode. So really what it lets everybody do is anybody can become their own disc jockey and create their radio show. So I'm going to show you how it works. First we come here, we click, we log into the account, the Anchor account, and we can click create a new episode. And when we do, we've got a number of options here. Record, so that you can record your breaks. It's much like putting a break into an automation system at a radio station. Library has all the previous audio that you've recorded. You can add music. This is really cool, you can actually add messages. So it's like having listeners call in, only they're leaving voicemails. It's not an actual live interaction. And if you wanted to, there are transitions and sound effects that you could use. It's, you know, not something that we would typically use for a radio show, but that's there as well. So let's actually go in and record something. So I'm going to choose my mic, in this case I want to use the Samson Q2U that I've got logged in, and I'll just start recording. 21 pilots have been nominated for an ePeople's Choice Award. They are up for the group of 2020. If you want to vote for them, all you have to do is go to pca.eonline.com and you can vote for them. Here they are, 21 pilots. Okay, simple break, straightforward enough. It's uploading the audio now. You can see I've got a couple of other pieces of audio that I have put here as well, and we'll actually rename this. Oops, I'll be able to play that in a second. Let me actually listen to this audio. So this is the audio break I recorded about Imagine Dragons earlier. So now I've got a number of pieces here, and of course you can see that if we go to library, that's where you can find them. So let's just add each of these to my show, and then let's go find music for them. And so we're actually going to look up 21 pilots. Stressed out, perfect. Of course we want to move that up here. Let's find an Imagine Dragons song. Sure, how about Believer? So we'll drag that up here, and let's grab something from Billie Eilish. Sure, let's do Bad Guy, and that'll be here. You can see here that I can even activate sponsorships if I want, if I want to get paid every time people hear this episode. We're not going to do that now. All right, so here's the episode, 21 pilots. There's my intro into a 21 pilots song, Imagine Dragons into Believer, and then Billie Eilish into Bad Guy. And if I want, I can even add this text message. This is a test voicemail that Bob Kernan over at JCAPS left for me. So I could add that into the episode as well, and I could set that up with an intro if I wanted to. I'm actually not going to use that right now, but I do have that option. So let's go ahead and save this episode, and let's call it Seth Gitz Alternative. Seth Ressler of Jacobs Media shows you how to use the new Spotify playlist feature. We can publish it now, and I can actually customize this episode if I want. So let's just go to the desktop, and that horse looks nice. Let's put that there. I can give it a season number. I can say whether this is a trailer, a bonus episode, a full episode, whether it's clean or explicit. And now I can either save it as a draft, or I can submit the episode for review. I actually need to give this podcast a name, so let's call it Seth's Test Podcast for Jacobs Media. Seth Ressler uses this podcast to show off new Spotify features. Give it a category. I don't know, is there an education? Sure, we'll call it business. Give it a language. English sounds good. And we can upload an image for this. I don't know, what do I got? We'll use the horse again. We like the horse. Sure. I don't know if this will actually get approved, because it is a test. We'll have to see whether Spotify rejects it, because they're like, yeah, this is just a test. We'll find out, but we'll go ahead and submit it, and we will see what happens. Ready to distribute the podcast? Yes, I could distribute it here, send it out to all the different places that I want, but I'm not going to do that here. So we'll submit the episode for review, and we'll go from there. But you can see how absolutely easy it is to create a radio show. It's as quick for anybody in the general public to do it as it is for a disc jockey to go into their studio and voice track a show. It's absolutely amazing.
