Speaker 1: How to make a poster in Canva step by step. Hey guys, welcome back. In this video, I'm going to show you how you can create a poster in Canva. So let's get into it. First of all, you're going to go to Canva.com and you will get right here. Canva.com is a software that allows you to edit your photos, videos, create presentations, create logos, flyers, posters, and much more. Today, I'll show you how to create a professional and aesthetically pleasing poster on Canva to use for any of your needs. Let's get into it. You actually require an account on Canva.com. You can get started for free or you can even use Canva Pro. So once you get to Canva.com, we can actually search for a template for posters and you will also get an idea that what kind of posters we can create on Canva. So you can just search for posters right here in the search bar. And now we have Christmas posters. We have infographic posters. Now it totally depends on that what kind of poster you want to create because there are different purposes. Let's say you want to create a poster for hiring of a job. You wanted to create a poster for holidays. So it totally depends on you. I am actually creating a poster today for our, you know, team for our business which is we are hiring poster. So you can see we have a lot of different templates available in different niches. You can select any of these. A lot of them are free and some are pro. The one with the crown is going to be pro. So if you cannot use it, then you can just use any free of the version and customize it completely. We can actually, you know, customize a template or start from the scratch as well. But what I like to do is I kind of like get inspiration for my template and then start from the scratch. So this one actually looks pretty good. We are hiring and this one is pretty simple. So kind of I get an idea that, okay, how this is how they're doing it. And I'm going to create something like this. Then we have this one right here. Perfect. So let's get back and we can start from the scratch. If you want to start from the scratch, you will just click on create a blank poster. So this is our editor on Canva. I'm going to zoom in a little bit so that you can see it clearly. Okay, perfect. So now at this side of the screen, we have our designs where again, I can select any template and start customizing. Then we have elements where we will get a lot of elements on Canva. We have lines and shapes, graphics, stickers, photos, videos, audio chart, tables, frames, grids, collections. So a lot of things to work with and I can just, you know, get started. Then we have the upload here. So this is where you will upload your images, video or anything you want to add. Then we have text. Text is an important part of a poster. So we will be adding the headings from here. Then we have projects, audio and apps. So let's get started. I'm going to go to the elements here and first we can change the background color. So for background color, I'm actually looking for something yellow. So let's select yellow and then I'm going to go to the colors and maybe like make it more darker like this. Now what I will do is I'm going to go to the elements here and I'm searching for shapes here and I'm going to add a shape. So let's find it here. You can see a bunch of different shapes are available. Okay. If you cannot find something here, you can always search. So in elements, I'm going to search for an oval shape and I'm going to go to the graphics here. In graphics, we will find a lot of different, you know, shapes. Okay. So we have this one here. This is the one I was looking for. So I'm going to, you know, make it bigger and place it here. So this is the look that I wanted. This is what I wanted to add. Now, so this is what I wanted to add here. You can of course explore more. So once it's added, what I will do is I will change the color because this is not the color I wanted to go for. I want to go for black. Okay. So maybe black or red. Okay. Let's go with red and I'm going to make it darker like this. Perfect. So this is where my text will go because I want my text to pop out because posters are something that catch attention and that's the purpose of a poster, right? So we're going to go to the heading now, click on add a heading. Mostly the headings are added into a poster instead of a subheading or a text. Don't go with a lot of text on a poster because then you have to write a lot on it and it becomes very small. So make sure to go with bold text and something eye-catching. So I'm going to go with simple text, which is going to be, we are hiring. And what I will do is I will adjust the text a little bit. For instance, we can adjust the line spacing. So I will decrease the line spacing a little bit, and then we can make it bold. And I will go to the fonts here. In fonts, we have a lot of different fonts available. I'm going to select this one. Once it's selected, we can make our text bigger. You can also go with the numbers here and look at, or you can just simply move around your cursor, how we, you know, make the words bigger on Canva. And we're going to place our text here. Let's see how it looks. Okay. So it's looking a little bit, you know, very simple. Let's customize a little bit here. So what I can do is I'm going to actually move the text and make it not straight. Okay. So this is what it looks like. We can even, okay. Line spacing, I think it should be decreased a little bit more like this. So it all looks aligned. So this is what we have now. For now, I'm going to place it here. Let's work with some of the other elements, and then we can, of course, customize everything. I'm going to go to the elements, and I'm going to search for a speaker. Let's go to the graphics. And in graphics, I will find a bunch of different graphics here. So I think this one looks pretty good. So I'm going to use this one. And what I will do is I will just place it here, make it a little bigger, and I'm going to change the alignment and place it right here. This is what it looks like now. What I will do is I will add more text. This time, I'm going to go with a subheading and add some information that why we are hiring, what are we, you know, of course, and information about the company. So I have added my text here first, all of the text that I wanted to add. So this is what it looks like. Now, what I'm going to do is I'm going to adjust everything a little bit. I'm going to take it a little bit higher like this, and then we're going to select the text and place it here. So I'm going to make it this one a little bit smaller like this. Now we have the text. Again, I can adjust the text a little bit. We can decrease the line spacing for apply now. And then I can make it bold as well. Perfect. So this is what it looks like now. I'm going to place it here. And then I have added a text, which is the body text. So it's very small. And I'm going to place the website right here at the bottom, make it even a little bit smaller. OK, perfect. And place it here. So you can see this is our website where you can apply. And now I'm going to add some of the text that I wanted to add in the middle. And then we have our position again. So you can see this is what it looks like here. Actually, I can make this text bold too, like this. So you can see this is what it looks like. It looks really professional. At the bottom, this text, I will make it bold as well so that it's readable. So very simple looking poster is ready. But now we will customize a little bit more. For instance, this text right here. Once I select the text, what I will do is I will click on effects and add a shadow to it. In shadow, we can add a little bit of it. So you can see we have a holo. Then we have this one. OK, so the holo one also looked really good. And then we have a shadow here. So this is the one that I wanted where it looks like it's popping out of the poster. That's what I wanted. So I will add the effect here. Now, what I will do is I will go to the elements and add some of the decoratives here. Or what we can do is we can go with this shape again. But this time I will select a yellow color and make it lighter like this. Now we'll click on transparency and make it transparent and add it in the background. Click on these three dots. Send backwards. Now it's just in the back and I'm going to place it here like this. So it just adds this effect in the background. We'll go to elements and we can explore some of the other elements to just decorate a little bit. We have these lines here. I'm going to select these, make them a little bit smaller and place them here above my text. So you can see this is what it looks like. You can see our poster is almost ready. This is the simplest poster that I have created for you guys from scratch. And this is ready now. What we will do is we will click on share. Click on download. And for the poster, if it's a digital, then you will go with a PNG. But if you want to print it, then you will go with PDF print and click on download. Your poster will be downloaded from Canva and you can use it this way. You can customize any kind of template from here and create different posters for your work, business and personal use.
