Speaker 1: Hey guys, Jacob Scott, Lowrance Product Expert, and I'm going to let you guys know, we're out here on the water today, it's a beautiful day, the weather's changing, it's great to be on the water. But a lot of you guys are breaking your boat out for the first time this year, and a lot of you guys have questions like, I just broke my boat out for the winter, I turn my screens on and all they do is come up to the splash screen and it won't go past it, it won't go to the accept screen or anything like that. What could be wrong? Well, I'm going to talk you through a couple, three troubleshooting tips to help you get that boat back on the water. Okay guys, tip one, the first thing to do is check how much juice is in your battery. One of the easiest ways to figure out if you've got a low battery is go ahead and connect a battery charger to it, and I'm not talking about just your boat charger, I'm talking about get a regular battery charger, clip those leads up to the positive negative post on that battery charger and turn it on. While that's putting juice into the battery, nine times out of 10, if you go up and hit your power button, and you've got a charge going through that charger, it's putting 12 volts into the battery, so your whole system should have a lot of power through it. So at that point, if you hit the button, your unit should come on. Okay, number two, the next thing to try is if you got good voltage at your battery, then we need to start looking at the wiring in your boat. Either look under your console where your unit's plugged in, also the other thing is to make sure your unit's plugged in nice and tight, so you take that off, look at it, make sure you don't have any corrosion in your contacts on that, plug it back in, trace it back to your fuse block, make sure your fuse block's plugged in good and tight, and then after that, we're going to work our way back towards the battery. So those are the two main things that you want to check, that you have plenty of power in your battery, and next, that all of your connections are good. Those are typically the first two things I want to check if my unit won't go past the
Speaker 2: splash screen.
Speaker 1: Okay, guys, if you're still getting just the splash screen, the third thing I would try is a soft reset, and the way we do this is you're going to disconnect the power from the unit so that it has no power coming to it, you're going to plug it back in, then you're going to press and hold the pages key, and you're going to continue to hold that in while you press the power button to turn it on just like you normally would. After you press the power button, you're going to continue to hold the pages key in, and you're going to hear a little two-tone chirp, and it sounds a little something like deet-deet. After you hear that, you continue holding that button for 10 to 15 seconds, then you can let go of that button, and basically what this does is it resets the unit, but it does not affect any of your waypoints, your routes, and your trails, so all that stuff's still going to remain in there. It just kind of resets everything else. So once you try that, nine times out of 10, this will allow the unit to come back up and operate properly. Okay guys, if you've tried these three steps and your unit's still not coming up properly, this would be a good time to give customer service a call. You should be able to see their number down below me right here.
