[00:00:00] Speaker 1: President Donald Trump says he's made his choice for the next chair of the Federal Reserve.

[00:00:09] Speaker 1: He teased the announcement at the premiere of First Lady Melania Trump's film, but didn't say a name. The sources are pointing towards Kevin Walsh, a former Federal Reserve governor. Walsh served for five years on the Fed after being nominated by President George W. Bush, and has long been on Trump's short list for top economic roles. He was also considered for Fed chair back in 2017, a job that ultimately went to Jerome Powell. Walsh is one of four final contenders alongside Kevin Hassett, Rick Rider, and Christopher Waller. President expected to make the announcement officially on Friday.
