Speaker 1: Hello all, in this video I am going to discuss which one is the good referencing software, Zotero or Manly. Before going to the comparison between Zotero and Manly, let me make you clear the other important competitor, the EndNote. EndNote I am straight away excluding from our comparison because it is paid software. Even though it has many customized tools for referencing, I want to exclude EndNote from our comparison. Let us restrict only to Zotero and Manly. When it comes to both Zotero and Manly, both are cloud based working system. So you can access through your mail IDs and you can access through different devices. So when we look at Zotero, it will appear like this. Similarly, when we look at the Manly, there will be... ...three pane here, one is for the publication list, one is for the related info notes and tag related, then another one is the folder related. Same way, here in Manly also the folder related and other options and the top there will be options to modify your referencing content. Then here in the center page we will have all the list of references and here we have details in the third pane. So both look similar. But what... ...are all the major differences? So when it comes to Manly, Manly provide 2 GB free whereas Zotero provides only 200 MB. So when you are doing so many extensive research and so many references, you have to go for Manly. Then the second thing is, if you are a person who are reading more document, then what you need to do is, you need to prefer Manly because it provides a good reading tool. Like here, you can use it as a reading tool and you can annotate and give highlights and then give some extra colors and you can read the document and for further reference you can use this scribbled material. So that way, Manly is better. Now, what are all the advantages of Zotero? When we are using so many different types of references in our article, in our research, then we need to go for Zotero. Then the other thing is, the number of collaborators, you can collaborate in Manly, but the number is very few, you can collaborate up to 3 to 4 people, but here you can, in Zotero you can collaborate with many number of people, that is the second advantage of Zotero. There is one more advantage of Zotero, that is, when we are using Google Docs, it has an add-on for Zotero, so you can directly use Google Docs apart from MSC. MS Word, that is Microsoft Word, when you are using Google Docs, Zotero will function, whereas Manly will not function. So to sum up, when you want more memory, up to 2GB free, then you should go for Manly. When you want to use it as a good reading tool for future use, you should go for Manly. When you want to refer more variety of resources, you need to go for Zotero. And you want to add more collaborators, then you need to go for Zotero. Then the third important thing, when you are using other than Microsoft Word, like Docs, Google Docs, then you should go for Zotero. At last, whether you use Manly or Zotero, the most important thing is just the idea of using a reference software for your research. So, always use reference software for referencing. Let it be Manly or Zotero, but use some referencing software for your research. Get some reference software for your research. Get your work easily done. Thanks for watching this video.
