[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of ASMR for Editors. Let's take a deep breath. Today, I'm going to show you how to convert your landscape video into a vertical video. First, you're going to come up here to the left-hand corner and click aspect ratio and video settings. You're going to select portrait. This will automatically adjust all of your scenes for vertical video. I'm going to select my media here and make sure that all scenes are selected here. Then, I'm going to adjust my video here until I'm centered in the screen. This will make an adjustment to all of my scenes. If you have screen recordings or b-roll and you want to do a split screen, let me show you how. I'll select my b-roll here and drag it up here and then drag it down until I'm at the halfway point. Then, I'll grab my talking head footage and drag it down here until it fits within the split screen. Let's take a look.

[00:01:45] Speaker 2: Emotional support bricks. Each of our bricks has a name.

[00:01:48] Speaker 1: Let's smooth out this transition by adding a smart transition here.

[00:01:54] Speaker 2: Emotional support bricks. Each of our bricks has a name, a past, and the emotional fortitude you need to get through your day.

[00:02:02] Speaker 1: Now, you've readjusted your landscape video for vertical video. Sweet dreams, my beautiful editors.

A brief example clip about “emotional support bricks” is shown, and the host demonstrates smoothing a cut with a smart transition before concluding.

  • Select your media and ensure all scenes are selected so repositioning applies globally.
  • Recenter the main subject by adjusting the clip position in the vertical frame.
  • For split screen, place b-roll/screen recording on one half and talking-head footage on the other by dragging and resizing.
