Speaker 1: Hey everybody, welcome to another YouTube video produced by Edit This. Edit This is a writing and editing services company. We specialize in helping small business owners such as yourselves come up with the right words to communicate with their clients. There's a myriad of ways to go about doing that through the written word and that includes everything from blogs to content writing for websites, newsletters, press releases, you name it. I'm not going to say we handle anything involving the written word. Now this particular YouTube video focuses on a blog post that I recently wrote which is centered around website designers and website copywriters and the relationship between the two. Specifically, five reasons why we should be working together more. Now I've had the pleasure of meeting quite a few website designers over the years and it's always amazed me how many of them previously didn't have a consistent relationship with a website copywriter. Now in those situations where they didn't have a writer to turn to, one of three things typically happen and maybe this has happened to you. You'd have to write the copy yourself as the website designer which of course would lead to project delays. The website designer would ask the client to produce the copy which naturally would also lead to project delays. And then number three, the website designer would forego copy altogether and just rely on strong imagery. And of course any one of those three things you don't want to have happen. You want to try to have a relationship and a partnership with a website copywriter. Now you can make the argument, I guess, that you don't need a professional copywriter to produce a strong website copy but if it's not your strong suit or you're a website designer and you hate doing it, then I got to ask, why do it yourself? Again website designers and website copywriters should always work together and here are five reasons why I feel that way. Number one, the website project progresses faster. This seems like a no-brainer, right? Website designers, all you guys out there, guys and gals out there, you're magicians with layout, design, colors, graphics, etc. But I haven't met a whole lot of y'all who enjoy the writing piece. Having a copywriter who can meet with the client and write it for you speeds everything up. That's a huge partnership that you can have in your corner. Number two, there's a reduced burden on everyone. To piggyback off that previous reason, there's nothing better than knowing you have that partnership that you can count on so that you don't feel like you're doing the entire project or taking the entire project on by yourself. Number three, strong web copy is more critical than ever. Visitors to websites these days, they expect engaging in informational website copy and content. That website copy and content needs to be able to tell a story, it needs to guide them through the site, add value along the way, and more importantly convince them to do business with your client. Strong copy working together with the inviting visuals that you create as a website designer ensure that the website places higher in search results and leave visitors awestruck. You need a copywriter in your corner to complete that puzzle. Number four, the opportunity to unlock new ideas. I'm not just talking about myself, I know a lot of writers out there, especially guys and gals that are perfect at website copywriting and content writing. There's a ton of them who are extremely creative and the same thing goes for website designers. Imagine taking all of that creativity, putting it at the same table, and being able to spark collaboration and new ideas that you never thought possible simply by having that relationship. It's an opportunity to unlock new ideas. The fifth basic reason is that you get to create a turnkey product for your client. Websites aren't cheap, we all know that, especially the good ones, so if a client is making that type of investment in you and they're trusting you to put that type of a product together for them to help them grow their business, you want to build in as many additional value added services and partnerships as possible so that they don't feel like they need to help complete the process and they feel like they truly have a team that has their back in every way, shape, and form. So anyway, that is today's blog. I think that it's imperative in this day and age for website designers to have a relationship with an able-bodied and creative copywriter to complete projects. I think it's a perfect marriage in a lot of ways, and EditThis is just a partner to help you with that, so if you need any help in those areas, be sure to give us a call. But primarily, I just wanted to share that information because I do feel it's some good information. I will share the link to my blog post in the description to this video. I do hope that you enjoyed today's video, and if you have an opportunity, please like the page that I've got going on here, my YouTube videos, and click that subscribe button so that you can see future content from EditThis. Thank you so much for watching, everybody. You have a great day.
