Speaker 1: Today I'm going to show you how to automate emails for TutorLMS and WooCommerce using a couple of plugins called AutomatorWP and AutomateWoo. So first let's go to plugins and press add new. Next we're going to type in AutomatorWP. Let's install the first one that comes up which has 5000 plus installs, 5 star rating and is regularly updated.
Speaker 2: So let's press install on that. Now it's installed, let's press activate.
Speaker 1: As you can see here we have a notice from WP Rocket to clear the cache. So let's do that before we move on. Now we can see the AutomatorWP in our dashboard. Let's click automations. So let's remove this automation that's already in here and let's start from scratch. So let's click on add new automation. And next we have to select our automation type. We have logged in, anonymous, all users and all posts. We're going to be choosing logged in and the reason why is because we're going to be targeting logged in users as they're going to be viewing our course that we made in TutorLMS. The reason we're doing this again is because we're going to send an email every single time one of our customers completes a lesson or completes a course. In the title I'm going to put lesson completion. Next let's add a trigger. As you can see here we have various integrations that we can use with AutomatorWP. We're going to be using TutorLMS as we're going to be triggering an email every single time someone completes a lesson. So now we've selected TutorLMS, we need to select a trigger within that. So we're going to select user completes a lesson. The reason why is because we're going to be sending an action every time a user completes a lesson. Now we've selected that we need to specify what lesson we need to complete before we send them an email.
Speaker 2: So let's click any lesson.
Speaker 1: And next we need to select an action. So what do we want to do when a user completes the lesson? What are the benefits of yoga? We're going to select WordPress for this just so we can trigger an email from WordPress once the user completes the lesson. There are a few options within the actions for WordPress but we're going to be using send an email. Once we've selected that we need to click on the user button. The reason why is that we need to fill in a certain amount of fields to make this work properly. So first let's fill in our from field. The reason why this is so so important is because if a customer goes to respond to the email that we send them using this trigger it means it's going to end up in our personal inbox. For the purpose of this website we're going to set this to info at jazzlopez.com. The next field is the to field. Now this field here we don't actually need to fill in. The reason why is that if you read underneath this field it says leave empty to use the email of the user that completes the automation. That essentially means that this is going to automatically fetch the user's email that it needs to send to. You can leave the other fields for CC and BCC but let's fill in the subject. In our subject we're going to be putting what are the benefits of yoga completed. Now it's time to fill in our email content. This is what the customer is going to be reading when they receive the email. So we're going to put in congratulations on completing your first lesson.
Speaker 2: If there was anything you didn't understand in this lesson feel free to respond to this email and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. We're then going to sign off the lesson with keep up the good work and we'll see you on lesson two. We're then going to put a small image of a happy yoga instructor.
Speaker 1: After that all you have to do is hit save and scroll up and then just hit save and activate. And just like that in a few clicks you've created an automation that sends an email to the customer once they've completed a specific lesson. Now the great thing is with this plugin is that you can set up as many of these as you like for all of your lessons and your courses. And now it's time to install Automate Woo. So let's go to WooCommerce extensions. This is a premium plugin that's included with WooCommerce hosting by the Elite Web Co. So let's search for this plugin type in Automate Woo and then press install.
Speaker 2: Once that's installed let's refresh our page so we can see it's within our menu.
Speaker 1: Now let's click on workflows underneath Automate Woo and then click on add new workflow. So let's call this ebook follow up email. So now we need to select the trigger and in this case we're going to be using order includes product from taxonomy term. So why are we using taxonomy? The reason why we're using a taxonomy is so that we can group products and seclude them from other products or posts within your store. The reason this is so important is that we want to be able to set a trigger that is specific to one product. In this specific case we're going to be using product tags. So let's search for our tag which is build mental toughness. Next we need to add a trigger. Our trigger here is going to be send email. As you can see some of the fields that you have to fill in are very similar to that of Automator WP. So in our to field here we actually need to set this. So on the right hand side you can see that we have customer email underneath variables. If you click on that you'll notice there's a small piece of text that you can actually copy to your clipboard. Let's copy that to our clipboard and paste that in the to field. What this is going to do is it's going to automatically fetch the user's email to ensure that this email is sent to the right person. And again let's fill in our reply to fields. Let's put in Jazz Lopez and put info at jazzlopez.com in the email field. And the reason why this is important is that if they want to respond to this email we'll get it in our personal inbox and we can respond to any queries that the individual might have. So next let's fill in our email subject which is going to be ebook 7 day follow up. And in our email heading let's put ebook 7 day follow up. And for our template let's select WooCommerce default. The reason being is that if you've correctly set up WooCommerce you'll be able to see that the email is completely branded to your website correctly. So if we go to WooCommerce settings and go over to the email tab and then scroll down you will see that we have some email sender options and email template options. You can see here that I've already pre-filled in these fields and I've set the colors to be that of my theme. You can update these colors and update the header image to suit your website and the way you want it to look. And if you click on preview you'll be able to see exactly what your email would look like when the customer receives it. So in our email content let's put hey Jazz here I just wanted to get in touch and see how you're getting on the ebook guide. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions regarding the content of this ebook or if there's anything you're simply struggling with. We're then going to put in a nice little image.
Speaker 2: So then we need to look at the type of trigger that we're going to be doing here and also the timing of it.
Speaker 1: So let's keep the type of this to be automatic. Seeing as this is a seven day follow-up email let's change the timing of this to be delayed for one week. This means that after one week of purchasing this ebook they're going to receive our email. Again much like AutomatorWP this plugin is great as you can set up as many workflows as you like and send out product or service related content periodically as you see fit.
