Speaker 1: YouTube is a whole lot of work no doubt about it but what keeps me going is the fact that I enjoy what I do. In this video, I'll be sharing a few tips that has helped me stay consistent and productive even though I have a full time job alongside my YouTube channel. Hi, I'm Fitness Freak. Welcome or welcome back to my channel. I create videos around fitness and wellness content and vlogs sometimes. If you love any of what you're seeing on my channel, please don't hesitate to just subscribe so that you don't miss subsequent uploads from me and join my community. Tip number one, I plan my content well ahead of time. I came across a video on Sunny Lenarduzzi's channel where she mentioned video ideas every day so I decided I was going to adopt that and put it into practice. Every day, I try to be conscious of ideas that come to my mind and record it on my notes app on my phone just so that when I'm ready to plan a back shoot, I know I have a pool of ideas that are saved up somewhere. I haven't been so consistent but I'm getting there. So this is just a rough sketch of my planning for this particular shoot I'm doing. So first of all, I consult my calendar and look at what I'm dealing with. I look holistically at the months and also consider the Saturdays in that month, which is the day I usually upload. With that in mind, I know the number of videos that I'm planning for because some months come with 4 Saturdays, other months are 5 Saturdays. Then next, I go on to write out these topics on different pages so that I can elaborate more and maybe script the video or just have a rough outline of what I want to say for each particular video. Over time, I've come to realize that this is a very key stage in the video creation process because without blocking out time, sitting down to plan, it's very possible that you would be creating content that are probably not in line with what your channel is about or the quality and depth of each video that you are creating may not be where you want it to be. So whilst still in the planning process, I also decide the particular day that I want to batch produce as at the time I planned this content, I had 2 more Saturdays left in July and then 4 Saturdays in August, making it a total of 6 videos for 6 weeks. So thankfully, when I reviewed my calendar, I realized that there was a public holiday on Tuesday and Wednesday and because I want to make sure that I'm blocking off time during the day because of lighting and other factors, I intentionally picked one of the days of the public holiday to do the batch shoot. I want to make sure that I have good sleep before then because you know when you don't have enough sleep, it shows through the video. I didn't even have enough sleep yesterday but we're moved. So I wake up, plan my day in details and time every single thing. I say my prayers, I have breakfast, I do like a pre-planning process and then I go on to shower and then when I'm done showering, I prepare fully which involves my makeup and of course just arranging my hair and everything that will make me look good and then I go ahead to start my shoot. One of the struggles of being a content creator, I just literally finished straightening my hair which oh my goodness, by the way, it looks so good and then I was about to start filming and then that noise, that hammer sound in the background is happening right on the filming day that I planned to shoot like 5 or 6 videos. I usually schedule at least one hour for every video that I intend to shoot. I had to learn the hard way when I felt that maybe I was superhuman and I could complete a shoot in 30 minutes. That's not very realistic because some videos take longer to shoot than others, some take lesser time. I also try to remember to take thumbnail photos at the end of each video that I've finished shooting and then I set a timer for about 15-20 minutes to help me to change over to a new set of clothes and also go over the notes for the next video. For this particular batch shoot, by the time I was done with the first two videos, I realized that the breakfast I ate had expired and I was beginning to feel hungry so I tried to have something light and I also tried to make sure I stay hydrated because of the amount of talking that is done in this shoot. When I'm done shooting a particular video, I put my phone to charge whilst I'm preparing for the next video just to make sure I don't run out of battery power because that would be the ultimate time waster if I have to just sit and it would just kill your morale and drain your energy. So tip number 3, editing. Good old editing. My relationship with editing my videos is like a love-hate relationship. I really enjoy editing but sometimes when I think of the amount of time it takes me to just completely edit one video and get it out of the way, I'm like, ugh, it takes me anywhere between 8 hours to 16 hours. My editing time has drastically reduced now because I got this paid app, LumaFusion and it makes my editing more efficient and saves me a whole lot of time. But the thing is, it's not enough to just buy an app and expect that automatically you're going to be like a guru or an expert in using that app. I had to go through that learning process of trying to master using the app. So I decided to search for LumaFusion tutorials on most of the online learning platforms that I'm aware of. Thankfully, I found several tutorials that were easy to follow on Skillshare. Skillshare is an online learning platform with educational videos and classes. I've also taken classes here on productivity that are serving me now. For the juicy part, Skillshare is giving away a 1 month free trial when you sign up with the link in my description. So hurry up and go and sign up so that you can access classes that you have interest in. If you've watched up until this point, then I know you're interested in topics around productivity, which are really the kind of content I consume in my free time. All things productivity, time management, I struggle with that a lot so I try to really dive deep into these topics to just build my skills and expertise in that area. Like this video if you got value from it and if you know anyone that is really struggling with productivity on YouTube, especially for those that have a full-time job alongside their YouTube channel, share this video as a form of inspiration to them. Let them know that they are not alone and there are ways to actually make life easier for themselves. So I'll be seeing you in my next video, right? Bye.
