+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Hi, I wanted to do a walk through our goal system in Blackboard Learn. So we start here in the setup mode, then we'll go to the course level setup, and then I'll demo some of the reporting capacity. In this view, we can see the goals being set up within a goal set. These goals can be deployed to specific courses or to all courses on campus, and we've created this initial structure. So how do we then assign these goals to specific courses? Well, this is done with the instructor role within the course, and this is done through the add alignments menu. So this can be done on already deployed courses and courses that are even graded already. So we can go ahead and go to alignments, and within this interface, we can either search for the goals we're looking for or pick through the categories to quickly locate goals. Once they are assigned, an instructor has an option to perhaps show them to students or keep them hidden. I use my test course here and assign a couple of goals to assignments. So this is the alignment of content to goals. Now let's take a look at how an instructor then can run reports based on either the structure of the course, what goals are used, or the performance of students. In other words, how did they perform? What were their grades within specific goals? And this is done under evaluation under course reports. Two of these reports use the system. One is called a course coverage report and the other course performance report. Now these reports are using data that is refreshed in our system, and it's safe to say that it's once a day. It could end up being a little bit more often, but once a day is probably what we want to tell the instructor. So if they just graded something, it will not immediately show in these reports. The data is being prepared and refreshed on a scheduled basis. So within this report, I ran a couple of these reports ahead of time. So the course coverage report shows us that we have a couple of goals that we are tracking and we have specific assignments that are aligned with those goals. These are drill through reports, which means that you can actually click on any of these links and see more information. So I'll go ahead and click on this particular goal and we're drilling into the data. And so here we have a specific course and then how many assignments were graded within this alignment. Then the second report, the course performance, shows us here and part of this setup is done right before you run the report where you're going to select what you're comparing against. But in this instance, I was using a zero as the value to compare against. So it shows a number of students who performed well, specifically one, and then students that have not submitted their work for grading. So this then informs the course instructor what is happening within the curriculum. Now let's go back to goals as the administrator would see them. And here we can run reports either at the top level of the goals or we can run them at a specific goal. So let's go ahead and run here the top level report and we'll select to run this report and let's go ahead and execute that. So again, the idea is that we can enter at the alignments to existing courses and then we can run reports on data that is being processed on a scheduled basis. But here we can see that the goals are listed and then we can see which goals are being covered and as we drill down, we'll be able to see the courses that are covering them. So hopefully this was helpful and we're looking forward to running this project. Thank you.
