In this video, we will cover the prerequisites for setting up succession plans, managing succession plans and pools, handling terminated and transferred workers, and reports for managing succession. The first step in implementing succession planning is identifying key positions in your organization for which you want to groom successors. This ensures your critical roles will have qualified candidates ready to step in when needed. The readiness level field indicates how prepared a candidate is to take on the role. Readiness levels like ready now, ready in one year, ready in 2-3 years should be configured in the system before assigning workers to succession plans. When creating the plan, identify candidates manually or use the find workers option to select from existing talent tools. Assign a readiness level to each candidate. You can mark select candidates as top choices. Review the succession plan details like job profile, candidates with their readiness levels and top candidate marked. The succession plan can then be activated. When a worker in a succession plan gets terminated, they need to be manually removed from the plan via the manage succession plans task. For transferred workers, if the job slash position moves with them, the succession plan remains intact. If not, the plan is inactivated. Succession pools allow you to manage candidates for multiple jobs together versus just one position in succession plans. Pools can be associated with multiple job profiles. Workers can be added with a readiness level. Review the succession pool details like associated job profiles, member workers with their readiness levels and option to add more workers. The pool can then be activated. The succession pool membership report tracks movements of workers being added or removed from the pool. This helps monitor the succession pool. The worker profile displays any active succession plans or pulls the worker as part of. This enables easy management of a worker's succession readiness. The navigate succession plans report shows succession plans by position with current successors. It provides a graphical view of coverage for key roles. The succession pool membership tracking report allows you to keep track of the movement in your succession pool, displaying when candidates were added to or removed from the pool as well as who made the update. Tracking delivers many reports to help you manage succession on an ongoing basis. The career section of the worker profile can be configured with a profile group succession profile. This report provides a quick view of any succession plans or pulls the worker is associated with and the ability to directly add the worker to a succession plan. Navigate succession plans allows you to view by organization a chart of positions with succession plans and who their current successors are. The succession planning summary report shows all succession plans by organization or organization hierarchy and provides detailed information about each candidate assigned to the plan. My team succession plans report gives managers a view into the succession plans for all the positions on their team. The find succession plans report provides a listing of all succession plans in your organization and allows for management of the plans. The succession related worklets below provide analytics around your succession plans and can be displayed on many landing pages and dashboards.
