Speaker 1: Hi, this is Russell Stannard from teachertrainingvideos.com. Today we're gonna look at webinar tools. Gonna look at webinar tools when we're delivering training or a lecture to a big group of people. So we're not really focusing on the idea of putting people into breakout rooms. It's very much more a kind of direct lecture. And often when I'm doing webinars, I have sometimes up to 1,000 people in a webinar. And the tool that I like working with is ClickMeeting. So yes, I do use Adobe Connect and Zoom when I'm doing small classes and I want students working in breakout rooms or I want them having discussions. But the ideal tool for me when I'm doing a webinar to a big group of people is ClickMeeting. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go through very quickly some of the features in ClickMeeting that I like, and then I'm actually gonna highlight how they work. Hope you like the video. And as always, if you do, please like it, please share it. Please, any questions, please leave them in the comments section below. And if you really like what you see, then please come and join me on teachertrainingvideos.com and also you can sign up to my newsletter and to my YouTube channel. Thank you very much. Let's get started. So the first advantage for me of using ClickMeeting is the layout. I remember the first time that I was introduced to ClickMeeting. That was when I was doing a webinar for Macmillan. And I was using their tool. It was the one that they chose. And I was just really impressed with the layout. And I thought, yeah, this is a very easy tool to use. The second thing that I like about ClickMeeting is the way that it deals with YouTube videos. So there's a special tab that you click on. You simply put in the video that you want, click on the button and it will play and it plays to your participants along with the audio as well. So it's really important. Number three is when you set up a webinar. As I said, sometimes I have up to 1,000 and I've had even more people in a webinar. And so what I need to do is send them out an invitation. They can click on the invitation and they can then receive confirmation that they signed up for the webinar. And then they're sent a reminder 10 minutes or 15 minutes before the webinar. And it just is a really good system that's all completely automated. So it completely takes the work off me. I set it up, share it with the people that I want to sign up to the webinar and then basically ClickMeeting takes over the whole job and that really makes my life easy. It's got some great automatic settings for after as well, sending the students or the participants a thank you email, sending them a copy of the recording of the webinar, sending them links to content that you might want them to access afterwards. So it's got some really nice automated features that just simply make the whole process of doing a webinar really easy and very smooth. Now I know that other technologies do similar things but it's just the way that it's organised in ClickMeeting that I found very, very simple and easy to use. And the last thing is the data collection. It collects the data together for me to then use if I perhaps need the email addresses to then perhaps send them an email afterwards or if I just want a record of how many people watched the webinar and for how long, et cetera. So those are some of the best features. They're the ones that I use the most. Let's now actually look at these features in action. So here I am on the tool and the reason, see, that I like the layout is that simply I've got the buttons here that I need to use if I want to access anything. So for example, if I just to turn on my webcam then you'll hopefully see me here on the screen. There's no need of me to turn on the audio so if I now jump to my webcam view then you can see me obviously mate on the screen. I can jump back to the presentation. If I want to jump to an interactive whiteboard, I click here. Suddenly I've got an interactive whiteboard that I can work with. If I suddenly want to jump to video, I click here and, sorry, that's screen share. Apologies. So if I click on the screen share button then I can immediately share my screen. Very easy and then to stop sharing, I just click here. If I want to play a video, then it's here and again, I simply add in the link to the video that I want to access on YouTube and it will start. So I love the layout. On the right hand side, I can always see the list of participants. I'll be there and obviously all the participants will be there and also we've got a chat window here at the bottom. So it's simply the layout that I like. I'm going to turn the webcam off while we're doing this particular presentation but you can see that the layout's really nice. There's some additional features I don't make so much use of. Okay, call to action, questions, which I occasionally do. So I upload questions that I want the participants to think about but the layout is really nice. It's just kind of an easy layout to use. You can turn on the record button easy from the top and I've got four different ways of recording the screen. For me, as soon as I saw this tool, I thought, yeah, I really like this way of working. It's just nicely laid out and nicely organised. Now what I like about this system is it takes a lot of the work away from me. If I want to schedule a new meeting, I click up here and I simply write the name of the meeting. So I'm going to call this Lend Talk as I know I've got a scheduled meeting with an organisation called Lend. I need obviously to put the date in so I'm going to click here and the date is going to be the 30th of April and I need also to put the time so I can click here. The time is going to be 12 and it's going to be two hours. So it's really useful to be able to, first of all, set that all up, choose the correct time zone. Now we can then go along to these settings here and one of the most important ones is we obviously want to send a link out that people can register for this event so we can come over to the register button. All I need to do is to turn this on because obviously we want to create a registration screen. In this registration screen, I can change the questions but normally all I need is the name, last name and email address and I normally provide a little bit of information about myself and then normally sometimes underneath a little bit of information about the talk. So it's simple to do. Once that's done, I can click on Create and Invite. Now, really useful here, if I click here on this button, and click on View Details, I can now share this link and just simply say to people, click on this link and complete the details and that information will immediately come back to me. Now that's not where the power is really. It's not only that people can register and obviously that's all done automatically but it's what happens with that registration afterwards that's really useful. Now that we've scheduled the event and I'm back again basically on my homepage here where I can see all my scheduled events, I'm just going to click over on the right hand side. I'm going to come to Edit and what I'm going to do now is that I can set some really interesting things to make sure that the whole process of signing up works really well. Now, there's an automation process to help us in a way to advertise the event. I'm going to be more interested in this one here, Event Promotion Rules and if we click here, there's a couple of really useful ones. First of all, we can have a reminder sent to all of the participants an hour before and that is so useful and in fact, we can add more than one if we want, say for example, a day before and to have two possible events, okay? So we can actually do it one hour before and a day before the event and that will send two reminders automatically. I won't need to worry about doing that but look also at some of the follow-up rules that we can use. So we can automatically have a thank you email sent with a link to my website and we could even have a thank you email sent and actually customise it and include other information, for example, a certificate for attendees or a copy of the recording or an option to give feedback. All of these things really help me to make the process much, much easier when I'm trying to organise a webinar. Finally, if we go to the statistics and we just have a look at some of the webinars that I've run and obviously many of the times, I'm just doing it very small ones with just one person or two people or often just testing but sometimes I'm doing a webinar with a huge number of people, for example, this one here, 1,302 people and if I click here, I can actually get a full report or I can get a copy of all the emails and names and addresses of the students or participants in case I wanna send them some additional information. So the fact that I've got all this data and that includes data about how long people stayed within the webinar, et cetera, so really, really useful for me and that's another reason why I like working with this particular tool. Now, I wanna emphasise that many other technologies have similar sorts of things. My feeling is though that the way ClickMeeting have organised and laid it out, it made it very easy for me to learn and that's why I still use it as my webinar tool when I'm doing large webinars to large groups of participants. Okay, really hope that video was useful. Please come to teachertrainingvideos.com. Lots more free videos, loads of different technologies here along the top of the screen that you can access. You can also join the free online course that we're running on how to teach online, how to take your teaching online. It's really proved popular. I think 3,500 students now. If you wanna keep up with my work, there's really two things that you can do. You can sign up to the newsletter. That way, you get updated with all the blog posts, with the webinars, with the new videos and with the online courses that I run. You can also sign up to my YouTube channel. I think we're up to something like around 22,000, 23,000 subscribers now. If you're looking for some online training, either one-to-one or one-to-group, tools like Camtasia, Moodle, Zoom, ClickMeeting, YouTube channel, et cetera. I've got lots of people at the moment I'm working with in a one-to-one context and a few in a one-to-group context. Then please contact me and you can do that from my website and thank you very much.
