Speaker 1: In this video, we're going to look at the automatic transcription process in Closed Caption Creator. Automatic transcription, or speech-to-text, will extract the audio from your video file, upload it to secure storage, and convert the audio to text. This process currently only works with local files, meaning it won't work if your video is on YouTube, Vimeo, or being streamed from cloud storage already. Let's get started. I'll create a new project using a video I have stored in my videos folder on my computer. Next, I'll go to the AI tools and click Automatic Transcription. The Automatic Transcription window will appear. From here, you can specify the source language of your media, the estimated number of speakers, and the media profile of how the media was captured. Click the Submit Job button when you're ready. It may take a few seconds for the job to begin. We'll start by extracting the audio and then uploading it to secure storage. Once the transcription process is completed, the source audio is deleted. Once the job is submitted successfully, the AI Transcript Import Dashboard will open automatically to display the job. I think it's important, though, if you know how to access the dashboard yourself. In order to access the import dashboard anytime, simply go to AI Tools, AI Transcription Import. You'll notice that my job is already complete. This is because I used a short 60-second video. You can expect the transcription process to take between 1.5 to 2.5 minutes, depending on how long the video is. You can expect the transcription process to take between 3 to 4 times real-time, meaning a 60-second video can be transcribed in about 20 seconds. I want to take a second here to go over the functions in the AI Transcript Import Dashboard. At the top left, we have our filter options. These allow users to view all jobs within a specific time frame. I can see jobs submitted in the past 24 hours, week, month, year, or even provide a custom date range. Remember to click the Refresh button in order to view the jobs. I can also filter jobs by their current status. If I want to view jobs currently in progress, I can select the In Progress option from the dropdown and click Refresh. I don't currently have any jobs in progress, so nothing is returned. On the far right, we have the Export option for exporting the dashboard results as a CSV report for use in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or other spreadsheet applications. The CSV report will contain additional information not visible in the dashboard, including estimated costs per job. If I select a job from the dashboard, you'll notice there are three buttons that appear in the bottom of the window. The first two buttons are import buttons. These will indicate how the transcript is imported into your project. Import as Transcript will import the transcript into a transcript event group as it is without any preprocessing. The Import as Subtitles option will process the transcript first and break it into smaller subtitle events. Then it will import those events into a subtitle event group. Let me show you the difference. When I import the job as a transcript, you'll notice I have longer events and my event group type is set to Transcript. When I import the job as subtitles, all my large events have automatically been broken into smaller events and the event group type is set to Subtitle. If I go back into the event group import dashboard and select a job, you'll also notice the Delete Transcript option. We always want to give users the option to delete their files once they're finished with them. At this point, you should be able to start submitting your own automatic transcription jobs.
