Speaker 1: Hi, I'm Barry Baumgardner, and I'm here at the Sage Studios today, a little bit messy around here. We've been doing a little bit of renovations here at Sage, and I wanted to take just a couple quick minutes and answer a really great question from Marianne, who said, exactly how much money do I need to host a live event? Like what does it cost? What's the budget? Here's the thing, Marianne, this is awesome for you. Courtesy of COVID, you can now host a virtual live event from your living room for virtually nothing. Now let me tell you a little bit about why this matters a lot. In the old days, pre-COVID, you would need to get a space like this. You'd need to actually go to a hotel or a venue and actually rent a physical space to host your live event. And when you do that, you might have to pay for rental of the room, a food and beverage minimum, possibly even a room block, and that requires a lot of guesswork on how many people you're going to have and how much you're going to need to spend. It puts a lot of pressure on you. On top of that, you would need an audiovisual team, you might be doing print and product, you're going to have some handouts and badges, and you might need some onsite team there to help support you. So you can see the costs start clicking up and up and up. I mean, it was not uncommon pre-COVID, even for a small event, to spend $150,000 or more. Again, the financial pressure hanging over your head to do that kept a lot of people from doing a live event. Then COVID happened, and here's the one silver lining of COVID. It ushered in a whole new era of live events. I actually think of it as the democratization of live events. And here's what I mean by that. Now you can host a live event from your living room, and all you really need is a computer and a Zoom account. Now listen, if you want to upgrade that set, you could actually add a TV so that you could see your gallery larger than life versus just looking at your computer screen, and you could add some basic lighting. And by that I mean, take some lights you have around your house, take the lampshade off and put them in front of your face so you've got some good lighting, and have the camera facing you, and voila, you're in the event business. What's even better is that you could host an event for $5,000, $50,000, $500,000, $5,000 or more, and it could be a global audience all from your living room. So the budget is now considerably lower, and that's good news for you because you don't have to sit on the sidelines waiting to do your next live event. You could do it tomorrow or next month or this quarter, definitely this year. So if you've been thinking, I can't possibly afford to do a live event, I don't have a big list, I don't have a big budget, I don't have a big studio, I don't have a big production, the good news is you don't need any of that. All you need is a computer, a Zoom account, a TV, and some lights, and you're going to have an amazing event. And by the way, if you're looking for tips on how to structure it, I recorded a video on that a few days ago, you can find it online, and I walk you exactly through how to structure your live event so that you get high conversions, and listen, you can pay for your whole year. You can literally sell for three days and serve for $362 all from your living room. So if you like this content, I want you to like it, subscribe, and listen, if you have a question you'd love for me to answer, leave it here. I'm going to be answering questions every day this month of February, and I just want you to remember one super important thing, you can do this.
