Speaker 1: Hey this is Tom Desmond with Uppercut SEO. I was just doing some research checking out some of the strongest Houston personal injury law firm websites and I thought I would share this with you. What I'm going to do is show you why they're the top ranking sites, what makes them the strongest using this tool. So this tool, Ahrefs, analyzes backlinks. Backlinks, when they are authoritative, trusted, and relevant have a profound effect on your ranking in Google. In fact it's the most important thing. Even more important than what you have on your website is what's happening off of your website. Other websites linking to you is what makes you valuable in Google's eyes. So let me show you some of these metrics. So DR is domain rating. It's a number from 1 to 100 and 53 is very good in this market. And the only thing that affects this number is this number right here, referring domains. And this website has 1500 referring domains which is very high. And a referring domain is the number of different websites out on the web linking to this website. It's a different number than total backlinks because some websites will have more than one link on it. This is a more important number. The other important number we look at is traffic, obviously, right? So there's 29,000 visitors coming into this website as a result of its ranking keywords. The next site we looked at is this one. It's DR56. They have 1600 referring domains and 65,000 visitors a month. It's a massive website. And I've been analyzing personal injury law firm websites for over 15 years and I've watched these numbers change and I know what is required in each city. And the websites in Houston in the injury market are some of the strongest in the country. The next site is this one, DR51. 1200 referring domains, 3,400 visitors a month. These are all really successful strong sites. So it might seem like a numbers game because if you were to look at the websites on page two, which I didn't pull up, you wouldn't see this many referring domains. You wouldn't see a DR this high and you certainly wouldn't see the kind of rankings and traffic that these sites have. So you would assume, oh, you just need more backlinks. And yes, you do. But it's not just a pure numbers game because you can't just go out and get a bunch of backlinks and expect them to work. They have to be relevant, which means they have to also rank for law related keywords. And a lot of website owners will build a bunch of websites for the sole purpose of selling backlinks, especially to lawyers. And they might even buy the domain name that has the word law or attorney in it and say, this is relevant. It is not relevant. The only thing that makes it relevant is if it's ranking for law related keywords, that's really important. And then it also has to be authoritative and it has to be trusted. So let me show you an example of one that is relevant so you know what to look for. So this is one of the, and here's the sales portion of the video. We have a thousand websites that are relevant and authoritative and trusted. And this is what we look for. So this is a DR 73, super strong. It's got a ton of referring domains and a ton of traffic. Now watch, follow me here. I'm going to click on this keywords to analyze the keywords that the site actually ranks for. I'm going to filter by the word law and show results. So you can see the site actually ranks for law related keywords, right? So in Google's eyes, this site is relevant for law. So it would make sense for a law firm to have a link from this site. And like I said, we have a thousand of these and that doesn't mean that you can get them all at once and then compete with these other sites. That means that we could build them over time. So you gradually reach this number. Because if you got them all at once, it would just be unnatural. It's not natural for a website to acquire that many links in one day or even in one year. You do like maybe depending upon how much traffic your site currently has, you can get 15, you can get 20 a month, you can get 18, you can get 21 and then you build over time. Just like this blue line here you see is gradually going up. Same with this one. It's gradually going up. They're adding, you know, when you have this much traffic, you can add more than 20 a month. But that's what you do. Now, this is something else I wanted to show you. I searched Houston car accident lawyer and this site came up. And they are not ranked high for this, well this is a sponsored ad, for the regular Houston injury page because they don't have the same number of referring domains as the others. However, they rank number one for Houston car accident lawyer and I wanted to show you why they are. So if you click this tool here, this pulls up all the on page elements and I just want to point out a few of the important elements. First of all, the on page stuff is easy. So follow me here. And before I do this, let me do this. I know this stuff is really overwhelming. So what I offer is a free SEO audit video. And so just go to my site, uppercutseo.com and go to the top navigation where it says SEO audit. Click that and send this form and you'll get an audit just like this. It'll be custom shot by me analyzing your websites and comparing it to these. And it'll include a game plan to get from where you are now to where you need to be. And I'll tell you how long it's going to take too. So that's totally free. Go to the site, you'll get it in about 24 hours, maybe 48 if I have a whole bunch of these coming in, but it'll tell you exactly what needs to get done on your site. And it's no sales pitch, except obviously I do the work, but you can take this video and give it to anybody that you want. Okay. Back to on page SEO. This site is doing a bunch of things correctly on page. Here's the quick rundown. Title includes the keyword description. It's not a ranking factor, but it's the right number of characters. It has the keyword in the URL. They set up the canonical correctly. There's a nice word count. It's 4,800 words on the page. That's great. And then their H tags are good. So this is where a lot of people mess up when they do their on page SEO. They don't write the H tags correctly. Now, a really important thing about writing H tags is you have to keep the user intent in mind. So you have to put the keywords in there and you have to put some synonyms in there and you have to put other supporting words. I'm going to tell you what some of those are. So here, here's an H2. So H1, you just use the keyword easy. They nailed it. H2s, they use the keyword here again. They use the keyword here again. They use the word contact, which is user intent. They want to contact a lawyer. They want to contact you. Put that in the H2. They want to hire you. See what I'm highlighting? Put that in the H2. Injuries, that's a supporting keyword. Fault, obviously Google knows what you guys are, what your clients are searching for. You have to put the answer to the questions they have in your H2s. Common types of car accidents. Injuries, again, they put Houston car accident. Bodily injury claim, personal injury claim. These are perfect H2s. File. We have a list of them and they, they did a good job. 18 H2 tags. Nice job there. Also anchor text. This is the last thing I want to talk about. When you build links, you can't just use the same phrase over and over again. So let's say you want to rank for Houston car accident lawyer. You can't just use that phrase in the text of the link. Anchor text is the text of the link on the other website. That's pointing to you. So let's analyze their anchors because they did it right. That's why they're number one. Drunk driving accidents. This is a little odd. It's 25%. I would think that this would hurt their website. I wouldn't build this many backlinks with that same exact text, but maybe this is an opportunity for you to get it even better than theirs. Here's the regular homepage URL. Here's a naked URL of the actual page. Here's a couple of super broad match anchors. This is another naked URL and these are partial match. So it has the keyword in there and then it also has the brand name. What I would do differently is use more brand name anchors up here in this, this percentage. This is actually what Google is looking for. More broad, I mean, more brand, a few more broad, a couple of long tail. And then you can see all the way down here, they used some exact match Houston car accident lawyer, Houston car accident lawyers with the S down to 1.7%. This is really good. So there's ways to improve on this and maybe take these spots. But overall, that's the deal. That's what works. Definitely take advantage of the free website audit video. You'll get it in about 24 hours. Thanks for watching this video. I hope this was helpful and I hope I get a chance to talk to some of you. Thanks.
