+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Hello everyone. Welcome back to my channel where I show you how to use Google Workspace, formerly known as G Suite, for your law firm. Today I'm going to show you how to create a shared drive, how to manage the members, and also your security settings for that shared drive. This is important because when you have documents for your company, you don't want them to be owned by an individual user. You want them to be owned by the company itself. So if that person wants to leave the firm, you don't have to worry so much about moving that data, migrating it, and making sure that it's not lost. So as you can see in my screen, I already created a shared drive called Test and Law. I'm going to show you how I created that now. So there's two ways you can do it. You want to make sure that you have the shared drive feature part of that. If you don't, you need to upgrade your account. And this is also not available for a free Gmail account, so just keep those things in mind. So again, you go to My Drive. You should see your third option being Shared Drive. So you can right-click and you can do New Shared Drive, or you can just click New here, and it will both give you that pop-up option. So that is how you create a shared drive. Now to actually manage members, you want to go ahead and see your shared drive you created, and you can see the option here called Manage Members. So here is where you'll type up the email address or the group email that you have for your firm. And you can go ahead and see the different options here. Awesome. So now we're going to talk about the settings. So in the settings here, you have these three options. So do keep in mind that when you add a member to a shared drive, they have access to all the folders that are created. You cannot pick and choose which folder that a member has access to. If you don't want that member to have access to certain stuff, it's better to just create separate drives for that for that information. Okay. And again, you can change the themes, you can rename it, you can search the drive by itself, and so forth. Thank you again so much for watching. Please share, like, and subscribe, and comment if you have any questions you have. And more videos coming out soon regarding shared drive.
