Okay, let's get started with my brilliant tips and strategies for preparing for your job interview in under 10 minutes. Here we go. Tip number one is to make sure you quickly research the company. This will make a huge difference to the outcome of your interview. Before you attend the interview, do the following three things. Number one, look at the company's website to find out what they do and the products and services they sell. Number two, follow them on social media so you are aware of their latest news stories. And number three, read their company values. Researching the company will empower you to answer the common but difficult question, why do you want to work here? Here is a quick sample answer to that question to help you pass your interview. Why do you want to work here? I want to work here because having researched your company, I see that your values align with mine and the products and services you sell are created to a high standard. I also want to work here because you are active on social media and engage with your customers in a way that tells me you are forward-thinking. I will get to collaborate on worthwhile projects that make a positive difference which will give me lots of job satisfaction. Tip number two is to understand the role you are applying for. Before your job interview, quickly read the job description and highlight the skills and strengths needed in the position. The hiring manager will assess your answers against the job description so it is essential that you read it. When answering the common interview question, what are your greatest strengths? You can say this, my greatest strengths align with the requirements of the job description. I am a strong collaborator who puts the company's needs first. I lead during workplace challenges to achieve a successful outcome and my cost-conscious work approach means I will take care of company supplies and resources to help save money. Perhaps my greatest strength is commercial awareness. I understand that I must do great things in my work to give the company a good return on my salary. Tip number three is to make sure you prepare your answer to the first interview question, tell me about yourself. When you answer the question, tell me about yourself, I recommend you talk about the following four things. Number one, the skills you have that match the job description. Number two, your education background and experience. Number three, any achievements you have gained in life either from a previous job or your personal life. And number four, the type of person you are and what you will do in the role if they hire you. Now those four things stand for SEAT, S-E-A-T. Skills, education and experience, achievements and the type of person you are. And you can easily remember my SEAT structure for tell me about yourself because you will be sitting on a seat at your interview. And if you want to download my ready made answers to tell me about yourself, click that link at any time. Tip number four is to think about your weaknesses. Now one of the hardest questions to answer in a job interview is what is your biggest weakness? Do not answer this question by saying you don't have any weaknesses or your biggest weakness is you are a perfectionist. Instead, choose a weakness from the following list. Number one, public speaking. Number two, impatience. Number three, letting go of projects. Number four, difficulty asking other people for help. Or weakness number five, saying yes to people which means you sometimes take on too many responsibilities. Tip number five is to make sure you dress professionally. This is really important. What you wear to your interview could be the difference between a pass or fail. If you give brilliant answers to the interview questions but you make little or no effort in your appearance, the hiring manager may think that you don't have high personal standards. Wearing a smart outfit to your interview tells the hiring manager you care and you want to make a great first impression. Tip number six for passing your interview is to make sure you take your CV or resume with you to the interview. Now a common question that catches people out at interviews is walk me through your resume. It catches people out because they can't remember what they have included in their resume. If you take your CV or resume with you to the interview in a nice looking folder, it shows you are organized and you can take it out and read from it when answering the question walk me through your resume. Tip number seven for passing your interview is to take with you to the interview a 30, 60 and 90 day plan. Now this is a brilliant way to impress the hiring manager. A 30, 60 and 90 day plan of action is a printed document you give to the hiring manager when answering the question why should we hire you. This document details what you will do in the role in the first 30, 60 and 90 days of starting work. So here is a brilliant example answer to that question why should we hire you that incorporates the 30, 60 and 90 day plan. Here we go. Why should we hire you? You should hire me because I am passionate about this work and industry which means I will complete my duties diligently and with care. You should also hire me because I embrace change with a positive attitude which means I will support the company in new initiatives. Finally you should hire me because I have created a 30, 60 and 90 day plan that details what I will do in the role once I start work for your company. I have brought my plan of action with me to the interview and would like to give you a copy. Now if you want to download this ready-made 30, 60 and 90 day plan of action that is suitable for all job interviews click that link. Tip number eight for preparing for your job interview is to make sure you have three great questions to ask the hiring manager at the end of the interview. Now toward the end of your job interview the hiring manager will give you the chance to ask some questions of your own. They will say that's the end of the interview do you have any questions for us? Now most people respond by saying no I don't have any questions because you covered everything in the interview. That is a big mistake. Asking smart and intelligent questions tells the hiring manager you want to make a difference in your work and help the company thrive. So here are three great questions for you to write down and ask at the end of your interview. Question number one. Can you tell me more about the team I would be a part of in this role and their responsibilities? Question number two. What's the best thing about working for this company? And question number three.
