Speaker 1: Let's take some notes with Otter AI. Welcome to the Accessibility Guide channel. My name is Sean Jordison and let's jump right in. I feel like I can't create enough content on the use of Otter AI. Today, we are going to practice taking some notes. Now, this is pretty straightforward. If you are in a meeting and you have a pro version of Otter AI, you can actually paste the meeting URL to have it join the Zoom meeting with you. However, if you just want to simply record in the background, you can select the record option and we're going to select new recording. And from here, it's going to begin to take down every word that is spoken aloud that the microphone can hear. Now, this is pretty powerful if you are going to be using Otter for note-taking purposes from within a classroom because it allows you to pick up all of the words that are spoken while also inserting images or highlights or comments into your content as you record. Additionally, if there are different speakers, Otter AI will work to identify those speakers and ensure that they are appropriately labeled so that you can come back and separate the different speakers if need be. Let's go ahead and add an image into our note-taking. This can be a very powerful option if you want to screenshot possibly during a lecture. You can simply use like the snipping tool on your computer to insert an image quickly of a particular slide deck or what have you during the lecture. So to do something like that, I would simply launch like the snipping tool from within my Windows PC and it will bring up this little box. And again, if there was a PowerPoint presentation, we're just going to pretend that it's this content over here. We can quickly save this file to our desktop. And then very quickly, we can come back over here to add image or we could even paste it from the clipboard. Wow, that's even more powerful. We can just copy it using the snippet tool and paste from clipboard. And there you go. It's going to insert that image directly into our recording, which is really powerful because now we know exactly where that image is in correlation to the rest of our note-taking. Now, if there are other areas that are really important while you are taking your notes, you could come in and actually highlight different pieces of the text by simply selecting the content and selecting the highlight button. Once you are done recording, the note will start to process and it will take a few minutes, but it's performing a lot of things in the background, getting it ready basically so you can do other things with it. So as it stands right now, I can go directly into my summary tab. And as soon as the file is done processing, we should get some summary information in here. You can also chat with your notes. So if you wanted to ask your notes a question, like, are there any assignments due? It will answer for you. I do not have any information about assignments. You can go into your takeaways, which will show you the different highlights that you took from within your notes. You can add additional comments into your notes and you could even leave yourself action items from within your notes. Now, what I like to do also is put all of my notes into a specific folder. So if we just pretend that this was for accessibility best practices class, I'm going to create this folder and then we're going to go back to our conversations. And in here, we're going to select the note option and we're going to move it into our accessibility best practices. Now we can come into that folder and see all of our notes for that particular class. We can also change the name of this particular recording. If we wanted to give it a date or something more specific, we're going to name this note taking with Otter. And now we can determine that the speaker is Sean Jordison. We have timestamps. We can view our images very quickly in correlation to where they are in the chat. We also have summary keywords where we can highlight that content and it will highlight all of those words from within our text. Again, we have our summary, which we can expand. And this is great. It just provides a single sentence. Otter AI allows for real-time note taking with image insertion and speaker identification. That's basically all the things that I said. Now from here, there's even more stuff you can do. So I can go up to my hot dog menu, expand the menu. And if I wanted to, I could export my file out. So I could export it out as a PDF where I can show the timestamps, the speaker names, the takeaways. I could even export the audio. Let's go ahead and export this as a PDF. Next, we can open up our PDF and we have all of our notes and our images directly inside of this PDF. If you wanted to just export the audio, you could select export and then choose, we'll deselect transcript and then select audio and export it. And now we have an MP3 file of our notes. And from here, it's going to begin to take. Additionally, you can play the audio back from directly from within Otter. This is pretty powerful if you were going to be using Otter for note-taking purposes. And you can click anywhere in your notes to have it played back. This can be a very powerful option. Now you might be thinking, can I speed it up? Well, you sure can. Let's make it 1.5 times the speed. If you want to screenshot possibly during a lecture, you can simply use like a snipping tool on your computer. And it also adds visual tracking for each word as it moves across. Here to insert an image quickly of a particular slide deck. This tool is absolutely a game changer for note-taking in the classroom. And I encourage every student or working professional to use this during meetings or classes, to record the lecture or the meeting so that you don't lose any of the information. That concludes today's video on using Otter AI.
