Speaker 1: Welcome to our course on managing projects in Notion. I'm Andrea, and I work on brand campaigns at Notion. A big part of my job is overseeing work across a bunch of teams, making sure stakeholders are on the same page, keeping track of project timelines and statuses so everything launches as scheduled, and keeping our brand voice consistent across channels. Managing this work in Notion ensures that everyone working on a campaign is on the same page at any point in time. In this course, you'll learn how to plan and execute a project with Notion. We'll walk you through how to set up and customize your own project management workflow in a way that's tailored to your company and team. Along the way, we'll also explore how to connect your projects to your docs in Notion, track sprints, integrate GitHub, and much more. But before getting into the details, let's zoom out. In one way or another, projects are how most of us work. They're how we turn an idea into reality.
Speaker 2: Having ideas is great. Every company has ideas. If you can't turn that idea into something real, something that is actually providing value, you will not survive as a company.
Speaker 1: Once you have an idea, you're left with the challenging task of organizing all the moving pieces of your project. Think about it. How many tasks and docs do you have to puzzle together to achieve your goal? And where does all this information live? Often, it's dozens of tools. Tasks, updates, statuses, pings, buzzes, and blips coming at you from everywhere. We believe that to do your most impactful work, project management needs to unite documentation, context, and execution in a seamless way. Old ways of running projects meant you'd have to fill these gaps with painful meetings that could have been emails and long email threads cluttering your inbox. Instead, you can bring all your project work together in Notion for everyone. Whether your current project management system is sticky notes on your desk or a full-fledged agile workflow, Notion brings clarity and alignment. You can see the project plan, all its tasks with owners and deadlines, the meeting notes for that project, and all relevant docs in one place. In upcoming lessons, we'll focus on how you can unlock project flow state. You'll learn how to write a project plan using Notion AI, create a related project tracker with tasks and custom properties, build views of tasks for different members on your team, manage tasks in sprints, and finally, integrate your system with other essential tools, like GitHub. Enough talking, let's dive deeper into how you can use Notion to start effectively managing your projects, starting by creating a project plan. See you soon.
