Speaker 1: Let's talk about sponsorships.

Speaker 2: So when it comes down to doing a sponsorship proposal, we understand it can be a daunting task. There's no doubt that we are sent a wide range of varying proposals. Some of them are quick, some of them not so much. But where do you need to lie? Where does your proposal need to be within that range? And we're going to tell you, but we're also going to give you a guide on how to develop the proper sponsorship proposal, what should be in it, what parts, what things you should stay away with. Remember, sponsorship is not just a company giving you free things. It's an exchange. It's a value proposition. What are you going to give the company in form of exposure in exchange for product or something else? So we're going to take you through each step of the way. This video is going to be sponsorship 101. This is the first video that we're going to do. We're just going to get you warmed up. We're going to give you all the things that you need to think about, that you need to have down in your thought process before you even begin the sponsorship proposal. Remember, this is going to be a series, and we're going to release this over the next few months to help you form a proper proposal. And the best part about it is it's right here free on our YouTube channel, where we do things like this for you all the time. So make sure you hit the subscribe button. Anyhow, this is sponsorship 101. I'm Scott from Koenig, and we're about to get into it.

Speaker 1: All right, so it might sound obvious, but the majority of sponsorship requests we get do not include an actual proposal. Sounds weird, doesn't it? You wouldn't propose to a girl without a ring, or would you? Or maybe you would. Today, we wanted to take some time to go over exactly what we look for in a sponsorship proposal and how to set up yourself for success when approaching a brand or an organization for a sponsorship. A proper sponsorship proposal should be well organized, informative, something that represent you and your team in a visual manner, and can be sent around digitally, preferably in a PDF form. Free stuff is cool. I mean, who doesn't love free stuff? But sponsorship is not free stuff. Like Scott said, it's about a value prop between you and a company. Let's approach the concept behind building a sponsorship proposal and the key elements that should be included when thinking about building yours. Number one, introduce yourself. Give us a brief summary of who you are and what you do. Number two, what's your project? Number three, what are you looking for when it comes to sponsorship? Number four, let's look at analytics and social media. What exactly is your exposure plan? Number five, how are you going to execute and what should we expect next from you? My name is Luis. I'm from Koenig. Let's get right into it. Let's start off by introducing yourself and your team, who you are and what you do. Consider that we don't know anything about you or your team, so educate us. We receive a lot of messages about sponsorship, so it's important to make an effort in separating yourself from the pack a bit. Also, include your fan base, who they are. Does your audience align with our brand and our brand's mission? Now, what's your project? Tell us what you're working on and how we can get involved. Maybe it's a build you're working on or an event you're planning. So as we said before, creating a sponsorship proposal is key. It's important to really take some time and think about the value proposition that you bring to the potential brand you're speaking with. Here at Koenig, we sponsor people who are passionate about automotive. We're not looking for a relationship that's transactional. We're looking to cultivate sustainable relationships. And a sponsorship proposal is the first step in being considered.

Speaker 3: What are you looking for when it comes to sponsorship? What are your goals and how will a sponsorship with us help you achieve that goal? What are you looking for from us? Help give us a sense about what you bring to the table specifically and why a partnership with you is beneficial for our brand. Alright, so let's talk about analytics, social media, and deliverables. Think about the value that you bring to the brand that you're approaching. Does your value line high-quality content for social media, representation at events? Maybe you're like Tom O'Gorman, just dominating on the track. Doing this will help us get a sense of what your presence on our social media platforms might look like. Deliverables are key, so do your best to include samples in your proposal. When you're creating a sponsorship proposal, highlight your assets, use your best imagery and media to represent yourself and your brand in the best way possible. And finally, how are you going to execute and what can we expect next? Tell us about your plans moving forward. What events are you planning on attending? How will you be visible in your communities to best represent our brand? Do your best to give us an idea of how often you will be attending events or creating content as deliverables. Finally, have an execution plan for opportunities, content, and deliverables all ready to go. Doing this will put you in a good position to start working with brands at a higher level.

Speaker 1: So think of this as a good old Sponsorship 101. We took some time to go over the basics. Stay tuned for future videos where we do more of a deep dive into the world of sponsorship. Look, it's 2022. Imagine you're on Tinder and you're hot. Would you swipe right on everybody or would you be a bit more selective with it? Do your best to stand out. There's a lot of competition out there. For now, we just wanted to lay out the concept of a sponsorship proposal and what you should be considering when building yours. Stay tuned for future episodes of Sponsorship 101 where in the next one we'll take a look at a few different proposals and start building one together. I'm Luis from Koenig. Until next time.
