Speaker 1: I just got to tell you something, it's amazing what Notion can do, but it's really amazing the fact that you can take Google's ecosystem and just kind of spread that thing around, you know, especially if you have a business plan, there's a very, very interesting Notion alternative that I'm going to show you at the end of this video, if you wait around, just wait. But to get things started, I want to show you an entire Google productivity workflow that actually is pretty reasonable for most people and can utilize a very convenient trick to have the entirety of your ecosystem sort of daily planned in a sense. So if you're on a budget, this is a good option to get across everything. First and foremost, Google Calendar, very simple and easy to use. It is something that I've been using for time blocking for a long time. It probably has the most fluid functionality when it comes to clicking and dragging things like this. I personally use Morgan, which is got Google Calendar in the background and the base of it. But I mean, the ability to take different things like this, easily add meetings, add repeats very easily by going to the custom section here and coloring things without a hitch as well as coloring the different example parts of the calendar without a hitch. This is the kind of stuff that makes Google Calendar really simple and easy to use. And it also does a myriad of things well in the sense that it has this sidebar just like it does in the other applications and in Gmail as well. What I personally recommend that you do is that you take Gmail and Google Calendar and you turn it into Windows themselves. So how do you do that? You go here to your browser, for example, go to the top right, go to more tools, create shortcut, open as window, create and name it whatever you want. And then you'll see here that there's also this sidebar. So if I utilize either this or this, or even when I look at here, you'll see that this is also in sort of a dark mode, which is nice. Unfortunately, Google Calendar doesn't have a dark mode quite yet, but something we'll get into later does have it. So for this on the email, I never really recommend that you have your email up at all times. But if you wanted to see your calendar while your email is open, you can easily add a sidebar here that has the different things like notes or tasks that you can connect with it. So obviously, since I'm teasing into it, you know, so far that the two main things and core of the system are going to be Gmail and Google Calendar. However, there's actually a half decent application that you can use with Google Tasks. And the nice thing about this system, especially if you're on a team, is that if you're in a document, you can assign people different tasks. So I go at Dimitri and check this as a task, by putting Dimitri here, making it due today, for example, assign as a task is silly, but Dimitri is silly because I am, I've been silly since birth. Then go here, assign as task, you'll see that I'm silly right here. And while this isn't the best functionality in the planet, if you press enable tasks, what you'll see is that it'll actually add these to your Google Calendar as well. And you can do things like drag them here. Now something that is not convenient about the system is that they do not allow you to drag these and change the amount of time. It only gives you the start time and by default, it goes to 30 minutes. However, I will say that you can make it all day. So you can just have a little checklist at the top and you can put it within different lists that if you color the same kind of lists, for example, growth, life, my side hustle, rise, productive, and work in general, if you color it to go along with that, sorry, not color it, but go into the different ones like growth here, and you know, that's the list it's in. And you then go here and you can see, you can sort of buy my order date started recently and you can go within lists here. Then you can kind of navigate, okay, I'm in this work time block, I need to do work tasks or something to that effect. So there is a very easy system that can be done with the list that exists. And you also can go into something like a Google doc and take notes on it. And then it'll interlink back to the task itself. You can see right here, I got there quickly. And there's also this kind of Google tasks extension that'll make it a lot easier to utilize with different tags. However, a lot of these extensions do cost a couple bucks, which is kind of annoying considering this should be baseline functionality for a Google application. But what you really can't beat with this system is the fact that you also can integrate your note taking within here. So like you can quickly search through your different notes, take different notes. You can pin ones like, remember that area 120 is a thing for Google. And this is something that I'm going to be like maybe researching more in the future. And I can either pin this here, archive it, delete it, or open and keep. And then when you go to keep, you'll see that it'll show right here. And you can add different assignees just like in your workspace. You can archive it, add labels, show check boxes, and do a lot with it. And you also have the ability to make a dark theme for Google keep. Once again, do not understand why they're not doing this for more things like Google calendar. Everybody uses when Google keep is not a popular thing for them, but you know, Google's Google. But this functionality is really nice and will allow you to take quick notes here, example quick notes, and you can categorize these by adding labels for key notes. And for example, add another label for random. And then you can go through the different types of notes you have here or edit the labels as well. And then say you archive one of them and then deleting them, which is what I always recommend to do with things will be that it is archived instead of in the trash, which will delete after seven days. And at the beginning of this video, I said that there was going to be something that was unique. Something that was different than Google's doing. Have you guys heard of Google tables? Because I'm a business plan and I got to tell you what, this stuff has the functionality and capability to completely change the way that we may look at Google now coming years. So you'll see that there are tables, templates, workspaces, trash, and there's the limits that I have. The upgrade options, you can see it's on the free plan currently, but if I pay for it, I can get a lot more. Imagine all of the ability of notions, tables, and click ups tables, but adding it already integrated into Google's ecosystem. So like, for example, this is a Google drive connection, so I can easily connect the file to this one right here. Like that untitled document that I showed, it has all of the same column functionality is the ability to link between tables. You can add locations, which if you put the default here, I'm sure we'll open up to Google maps because you know, they have a map situation at their company. So if I click on it, Oh, well, that's interesting. There's an error. It's kind of a buggy situation. There's even a bot thing where, for example, say I check off this one and this one, it'll change the status from in progress to complete. So let me do that again. Boom, it's completed. And you can also do different bots based on time, which automatically means it can do recurring tasks and has the ability to really take project management and even CRM management to a decent level. I'm pretty sure I saw my company that we use this and I just never knew what the heck it was. So I'm pretty excited for this to hopefully roll out with maybe some page functionality interconnectivity with Google docs and all those kinds of things will really make this better as you could guess from this right here, having something like this in notion that would be directly integrated with Google calendar and Google documents and drive would be so convenient, but Google already has it. So if you're interested in working with something that looks kind of trash, but it's very functional, Google has this for you as well. What is very nice looking and very functional is this video on how you can improve your productivity even more.
