+1 (831) 222-8398Speaker 1: Hi everyone, it's Cheryl and Vicky from Fresh Perspective, welcome back to our YouTube videos. So we wanted to tell you today a few tips and hints about utilising social media to find candidates because it is immense if you use it. Yeah it is like I don't think
Speaker 2: people understand like how effective it can be using social media to find candidates so and there's so many different platforms you can use. There is and
Speaker 1: there's so many people using it as well so yeah everyone uses it. Everyone uses it.
Speaker 2: Why not you use it? Why not utilise it? Yes. So firstly Facebook which you probably wouldn't think to use to find candidates but it's so good you can especially if like a local if you like a local job to us so as recruiters if we're finding people in the local area yes it's really good for finding groups for local areas putting in about the jobs we have nice
Speaker 1: snazzy fancy tiles aren't we? Tagging people that you know as well yeah because if you know people from the local area it doesn't necessarily mean that they need the job but they might know somebody else who needs a job and who fits it perfectly so again it's that word of mouth and just having
Speaker 2: things out there for people to see. Yep and you can also use a boosted post on Facebook as well. Oh that's a good one. Which I don't think a lot of people know about so obviously it means that your post is boosted up in the algorithm so people can see it and are
Speaker 1: more likely to spot it and want to know what it's about. Yep so boosted post just costs a little bit extra but the benefits of what you get out of it it's definitely worth the extra pennies. It is and then we have Instagram. Which I think is probably one
Speaker 2: your favourite platforms. I love Instagram. It's all visual Instagram though, isn't it? I love it. We like updating our stories but it is about keeping your page up to date and putting stuff on stories so people can see what you've got going on. We use our snazzy tiles again, don't we?
Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, we create some good tiles here at Fresh. So the really eye-catching, it tells you the basic information that you need with a snappy caption to go with it which gives you a little bit
Speaker 2: more detail about it, but they just look so good. I know, yeah, so you can pop them on your stories, you can pop them on your grid, there's obviously reels you can pop them on now, there's so many different things you can do on there to capture a wider audience, so definitely recommend Instagram if you're struggling with finding candidates. And then the one that we use the most. Yes,
Speaker 1: LinkedIn. We love LinkedIn. We definitely love LinkedIn, but I think because we love LinkedIn,
Speaker 2: LinkedIn loves us. It does. It's all about building your network up. So building relationships. Yeah.
Speaker 1: Having the right people coming in and making sure that you're starting conversations, adding the right people that is good for you and your business and what you need. And yeah,
Speaker 2: it's about getting your brand out there. So showing what your company can offer, what your culture's like, because that's what attracts people to businesses, isn't it?
Speaker 1: or it does like you've got to be positive if you are not positive and you're being a negative nancy then people are just going to keep scrolling so if you're being positive you've got a good workplace and they look at that and think my workplace needs to be like their workplace yeah then they're going to come to you for recruitment so yeah you've got to make sure that everything is fun happy joyful all over your linkedin yeah so make sure you're posting on your
Speaker 2: linkedin make sure that if you're that that's your individual linkedin and then if your business has got a page make sure that there's stuff on there for people to see as well because that's probably the first place that they're gonna go and then it's making sure that you've got your hiring banner
Speaker 1: on oh my god if you do not know about the hiring banners you need to get them on your linkedin because it's a purple little purple banner that goes on your picture yep and it says underneath it hiring so that is clear as crystal that somebody needs a new team member yeah so yeah always use your hiring banner and if somebody if you do that then people know that you're hiring and they can apply for a job straight away on your LinkedIn and it's so much easier as well they get it gets your CV and yeah so that is. Yeah and then something that we use across all
Speaker 2: our social media platforms is videos, TikToks and lives and I mean we love making them don't we?
Speaker 1: Oh we do, we all have such a lot of fun doing our lives.
Speaker 2: We do and with our TikToks as well we like to have a lot of fun with our TikToks but it's just showing a different approach, it's more personal isn't it if you're talking to a camera like we're doing now and people see it they're like oh it's really nice.
Speaker 1: And it's being yourself as well because like when you write a post you're not really showing who you are and you're not putting as much enthusiasm into it so you definitely need to be modern, be you.
Speaker 2: Cheryl's new phrase, I think we need to get them on the t-shirts don't we?
Speaker 1: We definitely do, that's the Laura merch idea.
Speaker 2: So yeah, I think that's all our tips isn't it?
Speaker 1: That is it, so yeah, social media, make sure that you are utilising it. Yep, and we'll see you all soon. Yep, bye.
