Speaker 1: Hello, Counseling colleagues. I wanted to share with you our new Career Counseling site. The way that you reach the Counseling site, I'm on the main Skyline College web page. You would go up here to where it says Career. And there's a couple of tabs here. And what I want to point out, there's a couple of different tabs. One is the Career Service Center. If you click on that, it's going to bring you to more of Career Readiness and Job Placement. It's not really what you want. You want to go to, again, Career tab and click on Career Counseling, which is located right underneath the Academic Counseling tab. Click on that. It'll bring you to our new Career Counseling site. It's got our hours of operation and who to contact. But what I want to spend some time on is the tabs that are on this side. You got the overview here. I'm going to go into more detail on the assessments that we provide on a different video. So there'll be a video on how to use MyMajors, how to use Eureka, how we use the Road Trip Nation website, as long as you're familiar with the Occupational Outlook Handbook, Strong Interest Inventory, and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. These videos will come at a later session. Today, I want to focus on the referral form, which would look like this. But before I do that, I want to go over the other tabs, including our Virtual Career Counseling. Yes, we are now offering online career counseling for our night, online, and weekend students. It has the classes that we offer, the class schedule, and the staff. Lavinia, myself, Jackie, Alexandra, and Jose is our career resource aide, as well as how to contact us. But let's jump into the referral form. Here's the referral form. So you've met with a student. They're not sure about their major, so they're an undecided, or what we've been calling an explorer. You would type in their G number, along with their names, and their email, and phone number. We would want to know what their current major is. So let's put pre-med in there. And we want to know their confident level. So let's say that they're somewhere in the middle. And the type of appointment. So in this case, the student wants to explore different occupations, and educational training required. So we'll put that down. And they would be interested in a virtual career counseling appointment. Let's assume that this is a Promise student, and you're the referring counselor. We want to put some comments. So in this case, I'm going to put, the student states, parent want me to be a doctor, but I'm interested in digital media and 3D animation. Under counseling, who the referring counselor is. This is important, because as we meet with the student, we want to close the loop, and let you know what happened. You would hit submit. And they'll get a thank you for submitting the form, how we're going to reach out. And if they haven't done so, we're going to complete some of the assessment. On the back end, what happens is that we'll get something that looks like this. And our career resource aid will then reach out to the student, and book an appointment with us. Again, to access the career referral form, you would go to the career page up here. Click on career counseling, and referral form. Hope that was helpful. Thanks.
