Speaker 1: Hello art students, this is Mrs. Brand here. Today I'm going to show you how to transcribe the interviews that you did during our Humans of Live4Life photo shoots. You should have uploaded those files to a folder on your Google Drive, and they will look like this. They are .m4a files. We are going to create a Google Doc within this same folder by going to New, Google Doc, and then we'll call it Our Name Interviews. I'm going to transcribe some interviews that Marissa did. In order to transcribe these interviews, we need to go to a separate website. So create a new tab in your browser, and you want to go to scribe.storynatives.com. Once you get to this website, you just have to click on the button that says New Transcription, and you can select your file. In order to select the file, it needs to be downloaded to the Computers Downloads folder. So I'm going to go back into my Google Drive. I'm going to click on the interview that I want to download. I'm sorry, I'm going to control-click on the interview that I want to download and say Download. And then back in Project Scribe, I can select the file, and it's going to be in my Downloads folder. Once you do that, the file will immediately begin playing, and then you can use the buttons to pause and play or rewind as you listen to the content. So below the buttons for play and pause, I'm going to start transcribing my content. Make sure you type the name of the person that's talking and what they're saying.

Speaker 2: What's your nickname, and how did you get it?

Speaker 1: You might have to pause and play it several times as you're typing.

Speaker 3: Everyone in our family deserves anything, because it's something easier to go by.

Speaker 1: Once you have transcribed the interview, then you can highlight, so click and drag on all the text to highlight it, and then you can Command-C to copy, go back to your interviews document, and Command-V to paste. Then you can go on to the next interview and transcribe again. I hope this video has helped you to understand how to take your interview and transcribe it into text so that you can use these quotes to add to your photographs. Thank you.
