Speaker 1: If you want a successful club, you will need at least 15 people who share the same values, passion, and who know what the club mission is all about.
Speaker 2: The first step to starting a club is making sure you have the student organization certification checklist along with the constitutional coordinates with guidelines. That's just a bunch of words that mean you have to have a mission statement and everything that you do has to go back to that mission.
Speaker 3: But you will need two forms that look like this. One is the student organization registration form and the other is the student membership profile form.
Speaker 4: So step three in creating your own club here on campus is getting a signed student organization advisor agreement. Your advisor can be a member of the college who is a faculty or staff that can help implement, help design, create, and develop your event here on campus.
Speaker 5: So guys, now we're ready for step four. Have your election. This activity is extremely important. This will include your first election meeting minutes that votes in your new executive board along with a sign-in sheet with faculty or staff or judicial board signatures.
Speaker 6: Step five, attend a CECL orientation workshop to help you get acclimated as a student leader. Learn about executive responsibilities, familiarize yourself with compliance protocols, learn about spaces for programming, and get feedback from coordinators on how to build and strengthen your member retention.
Speaker 7: Step six, you can decide if your club will need a budget. A budget is the funding that you will be requesting to fund events and meetings. You have the option of checking yes or checking no for funding for the requested semester. If you do want a budget, you will check yes.
Speaker 8: Finally, step seven, budget submission. You will be assigned a coordinator who will help you with the budget process.
Speaker 9: Your coordinator will help you organize your budget so then you can start planning for events.
Speaker 1: So now that you know what it takes to start a club and maintain it, contact somebody from CECL and get a club started today. What are you waiting for?
