Speaker 1: Hey, everyone. I'm Melanie from Streamline Legal, where we help law firms get the most out of their practice management software. You know, we were just talking about Dropbox a few minutes ago, and I decided there's more I want to tell, so let's just keep this party going. Tonight we're talking about Dropbox, specifically their file a request feature. If you haven't tried this, it is really great, and I would highly recommend that you do. I'm going to go ahead and walk you through it so you can see just how easy and simple it is, and you can give it a try on your own. So if we look over here on the screen, I am in my Dropbox, and I got to this screen just by clicking on file requests on the left-hand menu. Super easy, super basic to get here, and when I did, I can see the documents I've already requested from people, and so they'll be listed here, and once I receive those documents, I can go ahead and close out that request so that I don't keep looking for it, and it'll show up now under my closed requests. But in order to create a new request, I'm going to go ahead and come over here and click on new request, and I'm going to go ahead and say what I'm looking for. Let's say I'm looking for medical records, and specifically I want from Peachtree Chiropractic, and of course I'm going to spell that wrong, from January 1st, 2020 to today. And then I'm going to go ahead and tell Dropbox where I want those documents to go once I receive them, and so I'm going to go ahead and stick them in my Clio folder here under this particular client. We're going to look at John Bean, and John Bean has a matter right here, and we're going to go ahead and choose that folder so that when those documents come in, it's going to go right away into John Bean's folder. Now of course I could have created a subfolder for medical records or for Peachtree Chiropractic or whatever I wanted to do, but for right now, we'll just have this one. So I'm going to go ahead and click on create, and what's going to happen when I do that is it's going to create a link that they're going to send to John, or we're about to send to John, in order to make sure that he's going to go ahead and upload those documents. And so I'm going to go ahead and put in, we'll pretend like this is John's email address, obviously it's me, so we can go ahead and find that. And I'm going to go put in a nice message that says, you know, please send us the documents we discussed, so that he gets that message as well. And then I'm going to go ahead and click on share. And when I do that now, Dropbox is going to send him an email with that link so that he can use it to upload his documents. And so I'm going to go ahead and come over here, you'll see I just got a new message in my email here, and when I click on it, this is it. So Melanie is requesting medical records, and you can upload them securely. And he can go ahead and click on, this is my message by the way, he can go ahead and click on the link to upload the files. Now keep in mind, he does not need to have a Dropbox account in order to do this. So since I am logged into Dropbox, and if he was logged into Dropbox, then the account would be right up here. But again, you don't have to be logged into Dropbox, you don't even have to have Dropbox for this to work. So the link shows up like this, it's going to detail exactly what I need from him. And so he can go ahead and click on add files straight from his computer. We can go ahead and select the files that we want to put in there. It uploads them, I click on upload, and it's going to send them directly into the folder I requested when I created the request. So those documents will show up there. And in fact, if we go over here, and we find Mr. John, it was John Bean I believe, if I recall correctly. We can go into my files, and we can go ahead and find that folder for Mr. Bean. There he is, John Bean, and the matter was right here. And here are the two documents that he just uploaded to my Dropbox file at my request. And so it is a very, very simple process. It allows him to upload as many files as he has. In fact, we can send the request to multiple people if we want to. And it is very, very convenient. So now if I go back here and look at my file requests, we'll see the medical records request. There was one person that submitted two files. If I can leave it open, if I want him to be able to upload more documents, or I can go ahead and close it and request additional documents in a separate request later on when I need them. So I really do think this is a fantastic tool and a fantastic way to be able to collect documents from our clients, especially in this kind of situation so that we know that we're getting those securely and, in my opinion, very easily. So thanks for joining me tonight. Give it a try. Let me know what you think. Did it work? Did it not work? What did you like about it? What did you not like? And we'd love to hear from you guys. Thanks for joining us tonight and have a great evening.
