Speaker 1: There are a lot of moving parts and pieces in a communications program. We have to keep track of content, stories, media requests, outreach, analytics, and so much more. When it comes to achieving your nonprofit's communication goals, you need more than post-it notes and to-do lists to get it all done and make meaningful progress towards those goals. You need a planning and organizational system. In today's video, I'm going to share a communications planning system called Trello for NPComms. My name is Vanessa Chase Blokshin, and I'm the president of The Storytelling Nonprofit, a training and consulting company that works with nonprofit organizations to help them tell stories that raise money and awareness. You can probably guess that I'm passionate about nonprofit storytelling, but I'm equally passionate about nonprofit communications. Why? Solid and effective communications are really a linchpin for an organization, whether it's to enroll people in a program or service you're offering, to get the word out about something you're doing, to increase your visibility in the community, to raise money. There's so many functions that communications can support within our organizations, and it's so important that we have communications goals in place, processes and systems, strategies and tactics, all these things that go into a solid communications program. In order to achieve all of these things, a lot of planning and implementation needs to go into your communications. To help you streamline your efforts and get more effective with your nonprofit communications, I've created an organizational planning tool for communications called Trello for NPComms. If you haven't heard of Trello before, Trello is a free project management tool. What's great about it is that it allows for collaboration, and it also allows you to keep all of the essential information in one place. What's challenging about Trello though, is that if you don't have a system in mind to organize all of your boards, cards and lists and information, it can get a little unruly. So what I've done inside Trello for NPComms is created that system for you. It's completely done. There's nine pre-made boards that will help you get organized and get all of your information in the right place. Let me tell you a little bit more about it. So here's a look inside the Trello for NPComms boards. You can see we've put together nine different boards to help your organization organize all of its communications planning. We put together a board for brand elements, editorial planning, newsletter workflow, a photo bank, public relations, social media, a story bank, your high-level strategy, and also a board we call My Week so you can organize your weekly to-do lists. Let me show you inside one of the boards so you can get a better idea of what's inside of them. We'll take a look at the story bank one. So you can see inside all of the boards, we've added custom backgrounds for you, although you can change those, and we have a tutorial to show you how to do that. We've set up all of the lists for you already to map out your workflow, and we've given you instructional cards to help you figure out what to do with all of these and how to make the most of them to organize your information. So here inside the story bank, you can see story leads and ideas, interview notes, stories in progress, and finished and approved stories. Now, of course, the other part of Trello for MPComs is a good access to our online classroom to help you really implement what you learn and understand the system inside and out. So this is a quick overview of what the classroom looks like. So you can see we have an overview of Trello for MPComs, a checklist, a welcome video, and how to copy all of the boards to your own Trello account, plus a link to our private Facebook group. We have a video for each board to show you how to use all of them in case you need some extras help with those. And I have an ongoing list of Trello tech tutorials to help you make the most of Trello and become the most productive communications professional you know. So the best part Trello for MPComs is just $29. If you'd like to find out more and sign up to get your Trello for MPComs, click the link just below this video to sign up. Remember, once you sign up for Trello for MPComs, it could just be a matter of hours or even a day or two until your communications program gets more organized. I hope to see you inside the Trello for MPComs classroom.
