Speaker 2: Interpretation services has been invaluable in allowing me to do my job. Subtle nuances and words matter and can make a difference in a diagnosis or choosing a different diagnosis. And we don't have absolutely clear understanding of what someone is going through. You can make mistakes and make the wrong diagnosis. What I found is that when I have an interpreter readily available, either in person or by phone, that the story that I get from the patient is much more rich and allows me to provide better care.

Speaker 3: We implemented our telemedicine or VRI interpretation, video remote interpretation, especially during this pandemic. So all the practices here in Almejel, we can access someone that is an Almejel interpreter for Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, American Sign Language, and Gujarati. We can provide them in-house Almejel interpreter, video remote interpretation.

Speaker 4: As recipients of federal funds, hospital systems have to provide services in our patient's language of preference. And so now we find ourselves in an era of health equity, diversity and inclusion. But relative to diversity is specifically the ability to communicate with our patients in a way that they understand so that they can take part in their care.

Speaker 2: service available has been able to give me a lot more job fulfillment because I don't have to go home and say, man, I really could have helped that person if we had just communicated

Speaker 4: better. It's about making sure that we're providing effective, efficient care, every patient, every time, irrespective of the language.

Speaker 3: It's kind of the best feeling in the world, that you are someone that is helping get that message between provider and patient. Obviously, I tell my interpreters, the more you feel ignored, the better, because you know that that relation, patient-provider, is being intact. It's not being

Speaker 2: touched. So I've had a few patients who would not access care anywhere else, but because we had interpretation services available in a non-threatening environment, they were able to get their needs cared for.
