Speaker 1: We're going to be talking about my top three audio softwares, which is Logic, Audacity, and Adobe Audition. If you're new to my channel, don't forget to ouch and a little bit about myself. I've been in the audio broadcasting industry for about 17 years. And if anybody wants to know more about podcasting or voiceover or how to make your own home studio, all you got to do is check out my ebook available on Amazon. So we're going to be dedicating this little quick video in this three softwares, Logic, which is the least popular, Audacity, which is the most popular, and Adobe Audition, which is my favorite, but I don't use it anymore. And stay tuned to find out why I don't use it anymore. All right. So Logic, Audacity, and Adobe will be my top three audio softwares if you're a podcaster or if you're just a voiceover actor like I am. So let's start with Logic. Why is Logic the least favorite? And well, it's very simple because Logic, it's a Mac product. So for example, if you are a PC guy, you're not going to be able to use Logic. And I got to tell you, this thing just updated, and this is a brand new setup that we have right here. We're going to open it with you guys. So we'll see how it is. It's the same thing. There you go. So the reason I got Logic is because, as you guys going to find out, I didn't want to use Adobe Audition anymore. And I found out the Logic was, you know, the software that Mac created. Another thing that probably is not going to be very appealing for anybody is that it costs $200. So the first thing that people are not going to like is that this software is for only Mac users. It's not going to be available on PC. And if you want to get this software on Mac, it's going to cost you about $200, which I didn't mind paying it because I'm a Mac person and I wanted to have a really good software that will be compatible with Mac. But for $200, that's a setback. But I got to tell you something about Logic. It's an amazing software. It's a very amazing software, especially if you're like a music producer type. So let's say if you're a podcaster, and if you're a voiceover actor, and you don't have the budget to spend $200 on Logic, this is probably not going to be your software to choose. But if you have extra $200, and if you're a Mac user, I will recommend you to get Logic. And another thing that I don't like about Logic, it is that it's very complicated, because it has a lot of things that it's going to be very simple to do in other softwares. But unfortunately, Logic, because it's, you know, eager or towards music producing or very high skilled level producers and stuff like that, it is not for your average podcaster or voiceover actor, you know, it has so many things, you could put instruments, you could put, you could create albums, you could create music tracks, you could dub, you could do so many things in Logic. I mean, for $200, if you're a music producer, it's something that not only you should get, but it's a must learn. So if you're just a podcaster, and you're just starting, I wouldn't recommend you guys using Logic because it's one, very complicated, two, it's only for Mac users, and three, it's going to cost you about $200. But like I said, if you had the extra cash, this is a really good software for you to know about audio, to know about producing, to know about sound, about musical instruments, about many, many things that you're going to may need in the future. But once again, this is an amazing software that for $200 is going to blow your mind away. But like I said, it's very complicated. And for example, Adobe Audition is my favorite. And there's a couple of things that you could do in Adobe Audition, the Logic is going to make you take about four or five extra steps. And I have confirmed this with a couple of music producer of my friends, I have a couple of friends that are music producers, and they also use Adobe Audition. And they will agree with me that in Adobe Audition, you could do one or two things that here you will have to take about two, three steps for you to actually do. But like I said, great software. Unfortunately, it's only for Mac users. But it's a really good software that I recommend you guys get it if you have 200 extra dollars. Let's take this thing out. We're not going to save it. So Audacity. So I wanted to show you guys Audacity is free. Yes, it is free. And it's for anybody. And what I mean anybody is like you could get it on Windows, you could get on Mac, you could even get it on Linux. So let's say you're a coder and you want to get something, you know, good for to record your podcast. Or if you're a voiceover actor, and you want to do it and if you only have a Windows PC or a Mac, or you run Linux and you like to do that, well, this is the software for you. And let me tell you something is this Adobe, I mean, Audacity has to be my favorite at the moment. So I started using Audacity about two years ago, when I started working at TuneIn. And at TuneIn, they didn't have Adobe Audition because as you guys going to know is that they had to pay for the software. So they have Audacity and I had never used Audacity before I heard about Audacity, but I never used it before until I started working at TuneIn about two years ago. And I started using it. And I gotta tell you, it's for free. Are you kidding me? This has to be the best audio software out there. Because like I said, it's free. Anybody could download it. I mean, literally, you just go to audacityteam.org download, and you could download it and it will be yours. And if you're a Mac user, it's going to look like this. And you could do so many things. I gotta tell you guys, I use Adobe Audacity. Every day I work from home, and I use Audacity to edit all my clips. I use Audacity for all my work related. And as you guys could see, it's very simple to use. You could do multi tracks, you could cut and paste. You could do a lot of things that you would use logic. This is, I mean, there's nothing wrong I could tell about Audacity. You could have different inputs, different recordings, styles, you could do mono stereo, you could use different outputs. This is an incredible thing. I mean, for free, for free. Are you guys kidding me? This is an amazing thing for anybody to use. You could do so many things, especially if you're just a podcaster. The only setbacks that I will want to say about audacity is that you are not able to produce a lot of stuff. So audacity is going to help you out, but it's not going to do what logic will do, or Adobe Audition would do. So if you are a podcaster looking for a software to use to record your podcast, to edit your podcast, to fix your podcast, or just to record your voice, to submit an audition, audacity is the software for you. So let me remind you guys that audacity works on all platforms. You could download it for free. It works amazing with Mac and has so many different things for you guys to do. And let me remind you guys it's for free. I use it every day for work. I work at TuneIn, which is a very good streaming app and I do everything there. All right. So my favorite is Adobe Audition. And I'm not going to show you Adobe Audition because the reason that I stopped using Adobe Audition about two years ago is because Adobe Audition about four years ago, decided to become a subscription based product. So about five years ago, they decided to make this big change where they will not sell you the software just like Mac did to me. And I paid $200 and the software is mine forever. Adobe Audition, Adobe actually decided to go subscription based. So if you're old school, or if you are, you know, old enough to remember, Adobe used to give you a whole set where you have all these discs and you were able to have the software forever. Well, they stopped doing that a couple of years ago. And unfortunately for somebody like me that works in radio and doesn't have a lot of money, I cannot pay $32 a month. So in order for me to have the best audio software, in my opinion, out there, I had to pay $32 a month. And I'm not going to pay $32 a month when I have Audacity for free. Yes, I wish I could have $32 a month to have the best software for audio editing and audio recording. But unfortunately, I don't have extra $32 a month. to spare. Because as you guys know, we podcaster and voiceover actors don't have a lot of money to spare. So do I recommend you getting Adobe Audition? Yes, if you have $32 extra a month. And unfortunately, guys, Adobe Audition is going to be the software that you use at any radio station. If you guys ever go to a radio station, if you guys know anybody that had worked at radio stations, you will know that Adobe Audition is the software that everybody uses. I will highly recommend you getting Adobe Audition. I will highly recommend it because it's the best software. It's easy to use, easy to understand, great for editing, great for doing great, amazing things. Let me show you. Let's go to my documents. Let's go to imaging. Let's go to promos. And I'm going to show you a couple of promos that I have done on Adobe Audition.

Speaker 2: Sure. Well, it looks like we're out of time. All right. Midday Live, Dr. Mike Hathaway,

Speaker 1: Talk Radio, 790KBC. Thanks for listening. I did that promo on Adobe Audition. It sounds great to me. What's going to come next? Coming up on the next drive home with Jillian Barbery and John Phillips. We previewed. Oops. Let's see the date modified. Let me give you a better example.

Speaker 2: Uh. Oh, I like this one. That's just the way you make me feel. Coming up on the next drive home with Jillian Barbery and John Phillips. We'll tell you what could kill you in a movie

Speaker 3: theater before the artificial butter. Plus, there's a huge warm front moving in this weekend and it's going to be very stormy. And I'm talking about Stormy Daniels and her warm front on 60 minutes this Sunday. The president's freaking out. Imagine Melania's reaction. Live and local

Speaker 2: right after Dr. Drew and Lauren Sivan on Talk Radio, 790KBC. Now, let me tell you guys, I

Speaker 1: recorded that promo. I recorded their voices on Adobe Audition and I produced everything that you heard there on Adobe Audition. But unfortunately, I don't have $32 to spare. So let me remind you guys that if you're a Mac user, if you have $200, go get Logic. If you're just a podcaster, a voiceover actor that is starting or just wants to get to know how audio editing is, how audio editing works and everything like that, go get Audacity. And if you have $32 extra, go get Adobe Audition because it's available on all platforms. And if anybody has any more questions or wants to know more about podcasting or how to build your own podcasting studio, go check out my ebook available on Amazon. And for those who stayed this late, I wanted to show you another, a little other software that I use for editing. And this is called Fission. And it's actually not that bad for editing, but it's kind of complicated. And since I had Adobe, and since I had Audacity, I didn't want to bother and learn a whole new thing because you couldn't, I couldn't figure out how to do multitrack and stuff like that. But Fission came with another app that I bought that is called Audio Hijack. And Audio Hijack is basically a platform where you could broadcast anything. So for example, you know, Audio Hijack is a platform where you could broadcast your podcast. If you have a streaming services, you could broadcast. I could, I was able to stream from my house to a platform that I used to work for. And I used to do everything here. And for like $10 more, you could get Fission, which is another software for you to edit your audio. So there you go. That's another little secret for me. And if anybody has any more questions, if you want to know about more audio softwares that I know, or if you just want to know more about audio editing, you could send me an email at hello at josedelarroca.com. Hello at josedelarroca.com. Lastly, I just want to say that Logic, it's a really good software for music producing, for like high end audio editing. If you're just starting your podcasting, or you're just a normal voiceover actor that just needs to record something clean, easy, and you could do it on your computer, whether it's a Mac, whether it's a PC, you could do it on Audacity. And if you had $32 extra every month, you should go and get Adobe Audition. If you guys liked this video, please hit the like button. And if you have any questions, like I said, go check out my ebook, Star Podcasting, The Secrets of a Radio Broadcast Engineer. And if you have more questions about the softwares, or any other software that I should know, and I should make a video, just send me an email. Hello at josedelarroca.com. Until next time, my name is Jose, Jose De La Roca. Goodbye.
