Speaker 1: The biggest mistake that people make when developing an e-learning program is they spend too much time on the technology. That's why we are here to provide some clarity to you if you are building out an e-learning program to simplify your employees learning needs. This is the E-Learning Simplified YouTube channel. I'm Johnny Habe, one of the co-founders of E-Learning Partners and the goal of this channel is to simplify your e-learning, your online courses, and virtual trainings so that you can focus on the most important piece of education, which is providing remarkable content and value to your learners every time. So that is why you are here. Now if you haven't subscribed yet, subscribe, hit that subscribe button, give this video a thumbs up as well. Let's dive in. What are the best learning management systems for employee training? Now if you're here, you most likely have been searching this all over the internet or maybe this is your first search result related to this question. Either way, the point is there are thousands if not tens of thousands of learning management systems out there. The first thing you need to do is focus on finding a e-learning technology, an LMS, a learning management system, for internal learners. So internal means that you are looking to train your teams cursive M, which your teams are made up of employees and contractors. That's what we mean by internal. Employee training, internal training, teams, employees, contractors. So what does that mean? That means that probably about half of the learning management systems out there online aren't for you. Great, so now we've taken that 10,000 and we've slashed it in half and now you have 5,000 options. Still insane, still something you probably don't want to deal with, so you should probably keep watching the video. Okay, so let's make this even easier on you. If your learners are going to primarily access your training on a smartphone or a mobile device of some sort, you need to look at learning management systems that are built mobile first. Otherwise, what you are going to find are a ton of learning management systems in this 5,000 plus that aren't for you. So you can probably get rid of another at least 50%, but probably even more. And now you're probably looking at 1 to 2k options. On the flip side, if you are looking for a learning management system that is best used in a desktop setting, so a personal computer or desktop computer setting, a laptop setting, then yet again you can probably get rid of almost half of these. And yeah, you're looking at 2 to 3k options. So the purpose of us going through this exercise and going from the fact that you probably search the internet and you're just like page after page after page after page of learning management systems, and you probably don't even know that there's 10,000 plus, there may be a 100,000 plus at this point, everyone is developing one. It is so important for you to know what your learners want, how they want to access your learning. You want to know that your learners are internal, so they're teams, employees, and contractors. That's very different from external. External means that you're selling your e-learning, you're selling your courses to an external customer, to someone outside of your organization. They're coming to buy your training. That is a completely different technology that's needed. So that's why it's so important to know those things. We have run into times when we have clients and prospective clients who have chosen an e-learning technology that is for external purposes, but they need it for internal purposes. And vice versa, they've chosen an internal technology, now they want to use it externally. And when they start talking to us or they subscribe to our YouTube channel, they figure out, oh I need a switch. And then they save a lot of money because they do switch. So let's give you some answers here. So from the, we have two for you, and then we'll give you a bonus third one if you have a really complicated internal training that you need built out. But number one, if you need a mobile first internal e-learning technology or learning management system, you need to check out Talent Cards. Talent Cards. All one word, exactly like this. Capital T, capital C, Talent Cards. Talent Cards is super cool. And here's why. Talent Cards is basically like using Instagram or TikTok, uploading all your learning content and delivering it mobily to your learners. So the cool thing about this and why this is on our list as one of the best e-learning technologies or learning management systems for internal training for your learners is because it matches the user experience. If you're taking notes like I do when I watch YouTube videos or take online trainings, you need to write this down. It matches the user experience. The UX matches the UX of what your learners are already continuously using. And that can be half the battle. That's more than half the battle sometimes. Where you integrate a new e-learning technology and your learners have to learn a new user experience. That's the cool thing about Talent Cards. They pull out Talent Cards on their phone and it's like they're on Instagram. Super simple to use. Super simple on your side too. It's as simple as creating an Instagram post. You literally build out these cards which are like your Instagram posts and that's your learning. You can upload a video to the card. There it is. The video plays right on the card just like the video plays in your Instagram post or your TikTok post. That's the cool thing. It matches the UX your learners are already used to. And guess what? It's not that expensive. And the cool thing about Talent Cards is you can actually start using it for free. So you can go start your own account right now. We have a link down in the description. Click on that link and go start your free account. You can actually start building out courses. You can have X amount of users depending on when you're accessing this. They give only so many users away in the free version. But the recording of this video is somewhere around 5. So you can demo this without paying a dime. So you can demo for free which is sweet. So Talent Cards is amazing. But if you are looking for a learning management system that you need a strong desktop computer experience, we really don't recommend Talent Cards. And it's just because it is mobile first. But what you can do if you want both a strong desktop experience and a strong mobile experience, then what you can do is check out our other recommendation Talent LMS. So Talent Cards is a pretty simple LMS system. Talent LMS is much more robust, much more customizable. It also has a great mobile experience. It doesn't match the UX of the social media platforms that your learners are most likely using in some capacity. But the cool thing about Talent LMS is if you want that and you want this amazing desktop experience, you can bring the two together. And guess what? Talent LMS also can be demoed for free. Check out our link below. That's where you're going to get access to that free demo. Same thing, only so many courses, only so many users that you can use in that free demo. But the cool thing is you can demo it on your learners, a select group of your learners before you roll it out to your entire organization, which is really cool. But there's a lot of cool things. You can do a lot of gamification. So there's a lot of gamification, leaderboards, a lot of ways for your learners to really get engaged and care about the training they're taking. There's a lot of ways to send push notifications. There's also stuff you can customize. And you can also integrate an SSO and APIs into your current technology systems at your company. Super cool. So single sign-on and APIs. And it's very easy to do. And remember, like we said, you can demo it for free. Now there is a third option. This third option is really for the organizations out there, the businesses out there that need something much more robust. That you probably have more than a hundred employees. Most likely you have a thousand plus. And you need something very customizable. The cool thing about this other LMS that we're going to tell you about is you can actually use it internally and externally very well as well. The problem is it is significantly more expensive than both Talent Cards and Talent LMS. And this LMS is called eFront. Phenomenal LMS, but it is on the pricier side. But it's extremely customizable. And like we said, it kind of bridges that gap between internal and external training. So you have all your bases covered. Now if you are an organization with less than a hundred employees, a hundred employees or less, we recommend staying here. Even if you're an organization less than a thousand employees or less, you still probably want to stay over here in the Talent Cards and Talent LMS sector. But if you are a larger organization, we do recommend eFront. So a thousand plus employees. Or if you're getting close to that thousand plus, you need something very, very customizable. In a lot of cases, even if you have a thousand to ten thousand employees, Talent LMS is going to work for you. But eFront is very customizable. And there are demos available. The extent of what you get and how long you may get access for free is a little different from these guys as well. But there are demos available. Now if you want to demo eFront, we have a link in the description below. Check that out. To recap, what are the best learning management systems for employee training? That means internal training. There are tens of thousands out there. Your first goal is to figure out internal or external. So that's what we did. We crossed out the ten, got to five. Then we crossed out the five and we went to one to 2k because we're like, oh we need mobile first or we need desktop first. And then we also looked how customizable do you need it. Here we go. So you're really looking at the three LMSs on the board are really the best within their vertical. So Talent Cards is the best mobile first LMS. Talent LMS is the best all-around desktop first LMS. And then eFront is the best customizable LMS. Now best is arbitrary, which is why when we're defining what are the best learning management systems, we're not just looking at features. We're looking at value for cost and we're looking at entry point, which means the ability for you to use and demo the LMS on your learners before having to put money in. And the reason why that is so important is because you can spend tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars integrating technology, building an LMS from scratch, or just building an MVP of an LMS from scratch, integrating a LMS from a third party like these three LMSs are. And that's why it's so valuable to be able to test an LMS for free and have the amazing features that these LMSs have. So when we say best, we're not saying that there's not better LMSs out there. We're just saying that for the value, let me switch colors so you can take this note and really remember it. It's the value, so best equals value for the cost you're paying. And the entry point, right, the entry point, free, free. eFront has free demos available in some capacity. That is extremely important. So the takeaway for you is if you don't like what we have on the board, fine. Like we said, there's thousands of them out there. Just use this as the benchmark. If you are going to demo an LMS on your learners and you have to pay for it, there's free options out there. There's free options we don't know about. There's thousands of LMSs. We haven't looked at all of them. There's tens of thousands. We haven't looked at all of them. What we have looked through, this is what we like the best. Because the value, the cost, and like we said, the entry point is free. So that's what you're looking for. Because you don't want to pay 10, 20, 30, 40, 100 grand, whatever it is, on an LMS. Then you finally test it on your learners and they're like, we don't like this. You're just wasting some money. This allows you to test it for free. Alright, so if you really care about your learners and you want to guarantee their success in your e-learning program, we have a free masterclass linked right below this video. Check it out. Sign up.
