Speaker 1: In this video, I'm going to show you how to take your audio-only podcast and turn it into this. Look at me. I'm an audiogram. Yep, we are jumping on audiograms today. Audiograms. You've seen them on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social media platforms. But what exactly are they? Audiograms are short social video that use a clip of your audio-only podcast and typically contain these elements. Audio waveform animation, your show or episode artwork, and captions. Making audiograms does not have to be difficult and today you are going to find out exactly how fast and easy it can be. And stay through the end of the video because I'm going to be giving you three tips to speed through the process of finding the best clip for your audiogram. There are plenty of free and paid apps that make the process of creating audiograms super easy. For today, we are going to be using Headliner to create a super neat Instagram Reel for the feed. Headliner's free plan offers five un-watermarked videos per month that can be made to fit any social video size. We are going to be starting on the desktop version of Headliner to create our audiogram. And then we're going to be heading over to the app for publishing. Inside the desktop version of Headliner. First, log in or create a new account. For this reel, we are going to choose manual audiograms. Choose your destination. In this case, Instagram. Search for your podcast and pick the episode you want to pull into Headliner. Now this is going to bring the entire episode into Headliner. And we're going to have to scroll through to find the best clip to highlight. Use the zoom in slider to zoom into our episode waveform. Once you find the clip you want to use, adjust the brackets on either side of the selection to set the beginning and end of your clip. Be mindful of the duration of your clip. Instagram Reels, for instance, have a one minute max duration. Our suggestion is to keep your clip to between 30 seconds to one minute. Click the next button and choose a template to edit. Inside the template editor, we want to change a couple of things around. First off, let's adjust our background color to match our show's brandy. Let's also adjust the style of a waveform animation. And finally, let's add in a progress bar to show how long our audiogram is. Click the create button and choose to either export the audiogram now or open in the advanced editor. For this example, we're going to head to the advanced editor. The advanced editor can feel a little overwhelming because it can do a ton of other things to our audiogram. But the key thing we want to focus on is to edit and adjust our captions. In the transcript, we can choose whether or not we want to hide or show our captions. We can also click on a caption, play back that segment and edit our text. Click on the text styles and animation button to adjust the placement, size, font and animation style of our caption. Click save to close out our captions. The final step is to export our video. Click the export button. Enter an email address that you want the video to be sent to and double check the frame rate and video settings. Click export my video to start the process. Headliner will do all of the compiling for you in the back end and send you the video file. Just make sure that you do not close out the tab when this is happening. So why don't you go get yourself a cup of coffee and chill? Yay, our audiogram is done. But OK, so how do you publish it over to TikTok or into Instagram Reels? It's super easy with the headliner app. In the headliner app, we can see our new audiogram. Press the play button to preview it. To share it to Instagram, it is as simple as pressing the share video button and choosing Instagram. This will automatically open up Instagram and create a new post for your audiogram. But wait, what if I want to create an Instagram Reel, not an Instagram post? Well, I have got a bonus tip just for you. Click the share video button and instead of choosing Instagram, click other. Scroll down to save video to save your audiogram directly to your phone. Now inside Instagram, we can choose to add a reel and select our audiogram from our device. The benefit of this method is you can add in GIFs, background music and additional text to your reel right inside Instagram. And that's it. And now you have your very own audiogram to share with the world. Now that you know how to make an audiogram, the question becomes, how do you find audiogram worthy clips from your podcast without adding too much additional work to your workflow? Here are three ways to speed up that process. One, if you script your podcast, highlight those sections prior to recording. Two, if unscripted, in your DAW, add markers to your episode as you're recording. In Audition, hit the M key. In Audacity, hit control B on Windows or command B on a Mac. Three, a notepad app can help. Just write down the time code of your audiogram. So now that you know how to create audiograms, let us know how you're going to use them. Leave them in the comments. And if you're already using audiograms, how do you find the most audiogram worthy clips? Let us know. It is worth mentioning that the basic and pro plans for Headliner do include some other super stellar little features in there to make your process so much easier, like saving templates and being able to have intros and outros already in there for you to make things so much easier. Check the link in the description for more info on Pricing. Now that you know how to create your own audiogram, you might want to share it on TikTok. And you're going to have to watch this live that we did with Samuel Donner from the Finding Founders podcast. And he shares his secret of how to use TikTok to grow your podcast. It is so good. I'm Elsie Escobar from Libsyn and remember, keep podcasting.
