Speaker 1: Since 2006, over 60,000 refugees from Sudan and Eritrea came to southern Tel Aviv, and that is where they started to try to get their life back together.
Speaker 2: Elifalet is an organization that's really centered around caring for the mental health and also physical well-being of refugee children in Israel.
Speaker 1: What Elifalet gives today is a comprehensive program to these children from birth to the age of 18. We provide an after-school program until 6 in the evening, therapeutic programs for the children, as well as equipment that are needed by the parents in order to better raise their children.
Speaker 2: So when I came in as volunteer manager, it was actually really confusing. Managing 200 volunteers is difficult. We were using a lot of different spreadsheets, Word documents. If somebody wanted to volunteer, they would either call us or email us, and we actually had paper forms that we were asking people to fill, and it was actually a nightmare. And volunteers come and go, and they change. So you need some kind of system in order to keep all of that in check. It's really important for us to have software that's easy for us to manage by ourselves. And monday.com was our solution. It was actually really easy to transition the organization from using spreadsheets and into monday.com using the import options.
Speaker 1: Now that we're using monday.com, we have much more clarity as to the information that we have. Using the forms on Monday, we're able to collect information from the volunteers.
Speaker 2: The form that people fill out feeds into the board, where we have all of their information. We're better able to see trends.
Speaker 1: Which volunteers remain with us? Do we have more women, or do we have more men? What are the ages that are more attracted to working in the different programs? And then we're able to better target new volunteers. And when we're better able to target new volunteers, then volunteers stay more. So our retention goes up. It's this positive snowball of better targeting, better retention, and all of this is due to the fact that the information is now transparent to us.
Speaker 2: We were really able to very easily scale up our efforts without using any additional funding or needing any additional team members.
