I see this mistake with my clients all the time, and I actually made this mistake when I first signed up to Asana too, so don't fret if you already signed up the other way, I will show you how to fix that as well. I want you to have the best Asana experience, so if you want that too, then keep watching. Hi, my name is Samantha, I am an online business manager and Asana systems specialist. I am here on this channel to help you save time and mental energy in your online business, because who doesn't want that? Who doesn't need that in their online business? Okay, so if you signed up for Asana already, and you go into your account and you only see one team, if you only have one of these right here, and not this, not the ability to add more, you don't have this plus button, you just have the one team with like the list of projects underneath, that means that you signed up for a workspace instead of an organization. The workspace is a more limited version of Asana, it's meant for like personal use, whereas the organization is meant for businesses, so that we can have multiple teams. I mean, I believe it was designed for like big companies that have actual, you know, multiple teams under it, but we can use this in our small businesses as well, in order to better organize all of our projects and the different areas of our business, and it's just really great. So the only difference is the email that you used to sign up with your Asana account. If you have a workspace, that means you signed up with a personal email, like a gmail, hotmail, those kind of email addresses, instead of a business email with that has your domain name at the end, like mine is at samanthakasberg.com, you know, your business url at the end. So if you haven't already signed up with Asana, that is the way to unlock these extra organizational features, so just make sure that you sign up with your business email instead of a personal email account, and that's all you need to do, just sign up that way, and you will unlock this Asana organization over the Asana workspace. If you already signed up, and you have the workspace, and you want to switch over to an organization, so that you have these other options, I am going to show you how to do that. So what you will want to do is navigate to your Asana account, and you will see your face up here, so you're going to click your face, and then you will go down where it says admin console, and you will click that. All right, so then you will find this, and if it doesn't take you to directly to settings, then you are going to click on settings here. All right, so since I already have the organization, I can't show you in my account exactly what this will look like, but I will show you some screenshots. So here is where you will click, so once you are in the settings, as I showed you, you will click convert to organization, so you'll see it says convert your workspace to an organization, so you will just click that option there, and then it will give you these options here. You can convert it to the organization by entering your new email address right in here, so that is where you're going to put your business email with your domain name at the end, and then you will just click this convert button right here. So now you have the ability to add as many teams as you want, and separate your projects into as many sections as you want, which just provides so much better organization, so that they are grouped in those teams, instead of just all in one big long list under one team.
