Speaker 1: The demand for both live and file-based captions and subtitles has exploded worldwide with new content providers, increased video streaming, new government regulations, more live breaking news, and more total news coverage thanks to recent world events. In the U.S., the number of qualified stenographers who can actually do live captioning is declining as older seasoned professionals retire and are no longer being replaced. This has resulted in a shortfall of over 5,000 stenographers just in the U.S. alone. In other countries, governments are beginning to mandate broadcasters provide subtitles for the very first time, and these trends will continue and potentially result in rising costs for human captioners. New research shows growing evidence that our viewing habits are changing as well. More people are watching programs with subtitles, not because they have hearing issues, but because of a desire to improve comprehension, make up for poor audio, compete with a noisy room, support a language barrier, or use of a second screen such as a tablet or mobile phone. With the acquisition of screen subtitling systems, Broadstream is focused on solutions to help broadcasters save money and improve efficiency and accuracy with live subtitling. And after much work and development, we are pleased to introduce Vocaption, a live automated captioning and subtitling solution. Vocaption is built around artificial intelligence and delivers highly accurate real-time speech-to-text processing in 31 different languages with accuracy rates in the high 90s depending on audio quality. Accuracy is further improved by the use of Vocaption's custom and alternate word dictionaries that allow you to preload local or difficult-to-pronounce words, phrases, or geographic terms, and create substitutes for words that should not go to air. Our mission is to help broadcasters reduce their dependency on human captioners, save up to 70% of the cost of live human captioners, consistently maintain accuracy standards, and enjoy added protection thanks to Vocaption's emergency captioning capability. Vocaption is available with a single 1RU chassis for third-party encoders or a software module integrated with Polystream or Oasis Integrated Playout that reduces hardware while dramatically increasing flexibility and savings. The system includes a variety of different inputs and outputs to meet most on-air requirements, including line-in or microphone, SDI, HDMI, transport stream, MP4, 211030 and 31, and AES67 over IP. Outputs include 608708, DVB over ASI, DVB over UDP, DVB Teletext, Open, and Teletext OP47. Operationally, Vocaption accepts automated GPI and UDP triggers, is a standby mode for emergency activation using hotkeys or manual triggers, and can automatically sense the absence of subtitles and self-start when integrated with Polystream or Oasis. Commissioning can be done remotely and takes about four hours, including training, which makes onboarding easy and painless to ensure a fast start.
