Speaker 1: Hello, everybody. It's me, Beau Shivasu, the Eccentric Videographer. Now, as you know, I run a non-profit, 501c3, and donations are so important. So we use a donation software system called Donately. And I would just like to speak to this for a moment because I've done a lot of research with different systems that process donations for organizations. Initially, I was a bit apprehensive about Donately because they're a bit on the higher end when it comes to pricing and fees. Because not only does Donately take a chunk for themselves, it's a little over 2% or 3%, something like that, but that's tacked onto Stripe. So think of Donately almost as the cash register. So this is the thing that the customer is seeing. And then supporting this cash register is Stripe. And Stripe processes all the credit cards, it transfers the money into your account, so they're linked together. And they each charge a certain percentage, and the percentages are always changing, which is why it doesn't come to mind right now what it is right now. But the fact of the matter is that both of these percentages, the fees put together, is a bit more expensive than, say, PayPal, or even Amazon Donation Processing, or SimpleGive, and all these other alternatives that I have tried, and they've driven me absolutely crazy. Amazon does not have it down. When it comes to product management, I mean, I review things on Amazon. As you well know, I get about an item a day to review and produce videos. Love Amazon, but when it comes to donation processing, absolutely awful. You have to actually physically fax things to them, at least last I did it. It's so outdated, it's awful. What I like about Donately, and I'm just gonna mention a few of my pros, why I like them, because now that the cons are out of the way, which is the price of it, it will pay itself off. Think of it this way. If Donately, because it is so easy, it is so intuitive, and it is so powerful to use, if Donately gets you just one more donor, that donor, their donation, odds are their donation will pay for the entire year of using Donately and all the fees. You see what I mean here? The fact that Donately is so easy to use, even though it's expensive, it gets more donors, and those donors pay the fees off, so it's worth it in the long run, because you're getting more donors, because it's so simple and easy to use. Now, I do like the fact that there are recurring donations in Donately. In the back door, you can go in, and you can cancel subscriptions, subscriptions, which are recurring donations, very, very easy to do. It's, oh, oh, oh, another major thing that a few other donation services don't do, they automatically send an email receipt, so if you're a 501c3, you probably get a lot of donors giving you donations, or at least I hope they are. But you have to give them a tax-deductible receipt, and at the very bottom, it should say no goods or services were given in exchange for this donation, all this little IRS mumbo jumbo that you have to put in your receipt, and you're able to do that with Donately. You can customize the footer, and so if you actually want to donate a dollar, or even 50 or $500 to my humble nonprofit, Knock Studio, you're certainly welcome to see what this receipt is that you get. No, this is not a ploy to try to get donations. If you just want to donate a dollar, that's okay, just to see what this receipt looks like on my end. But the fact of the matter is, it saves me so much time, I don't have to handwrite or type out these receipts and physically mail them or email them to people after they donate. Oh, and also, the fact of the matter is, it's so easy to transfer into your account every couple days, it transfers directly. So here, I'll visualize this for you. So Donately, people log into the website, they see the checkout, the Donately, and they sign up for, I'm going to give $20 a month, and then that chart, it takes their credit card information and it passes it along securely to Stripe. Stripe processes the donation over here, and then within a couple days, this is where I'm going with it, within a couple days, Stripe transfers that amount and any other amount that has accrued during that time period into your checking account. And you can get on Stripe and you can see all the graphs and you can see customers and you can see their email addresses in case you want to plug that into MailChimp, as long as you have their permission to actually use their email in a newsletter. So that's a little pointer right there. If you're on your website where the Donately embed is embedded into your website, have a little thing down there that says, hey, do you mind if we sign you up for a newsletter? And by clicking Donate, you agree that you are. So just be transparent with that. Don't try to get people's emails addresses and spam them. They don't like that. But that's another thing. MailChimp is a free, wonderful program for sending your newsletters, your blasts. By the way, never call it a blast. That's very spammy. But your alerts, your newsletters for your nonprofit. So there we go. I could speak hours about donation processing. So there you go. As you well may guess, yes, I can talk for hours about different processing systems for your nonprofit or a nonprofit for whom you volunteer. In case you're wondering, Knox Studio is a 501c3. We basically produce film for other 501c3s. So we're a film studio that goes out into the field and captures what churches, charities, ministries, missionaries in Africa, what they're doing for God, what they're doing for the world, what they're doing to transform lives for the better. And we capture those stories and get the word out there about what they're doing. And then inadvertently, they get a ton of more support because now people actually know what they're doing. So that's what Knox Studio does. And if you want to support us, excellent. Or if you know of a nonprofit who needs our help, let us know and we'd be delighted to oblige. Our costs are a third of what industry standards are because we have incredibly talented volunteers with big hearts and big skills. They're so good at what they do. My name is Beau Shevesue and I look forward to testing and reviewing more fun things here on Amazon and all across the internet.
