Most active transcribers earn about $50–$150 per week, with higher earnings possible if you take on more minutes. This is fully remote, freelance contractor work—set your own hours from anywhere. We welcome applicants worldwide, including Norway and the wider Nordic region (Sweden, Denmark, Finland), as well as Europe, the UK, the US, Canada, and beyond. GoTranscript has a large global transcriber base and growing demand for Norwegian language work, so new applicants are encouraged.

No formal transcription experience is required, but you must be fluent in Norwegian (Bokmål or Nynorsk) and comfortable with common dialects (e.g., Oslo, Bergen, Trøndersk, Nordnorsk). You should also understand basic English to follow our guidelines. Accuracy, punctuation, and consistent formatting are essential.

It’s a simple two-step process: 1) Pass the GoTranscript guidelines test; 2) Transcribe a short sample audio to show accuracy and formatting. Start here: Apply for Norwegian transcription jobs.

You’ll answer a quick guidelines quiz and transcribe a short audio clip (about 3–5 minutes). The test checks your understanding of GoTranscript formatting rules, punctuation, timestamping, and your ability to handle Norwegian spelling, dialects, names, and numbers.

Payouts are weekly, every Friday. We support PayPal, Payoneer, and USDC, so you can choose the method that works best for you. Your earnings depend on the total audio minutes you complete and your quality score.

You’ll need a reliable internet connection, quality headphones, and a quiet workspace. GoTranscript provides a browser-based transcription tool with keyboard shortcuts, timestamping, and an integrated player—no paid software required. Foot pedals are optional.
