Frequently asked questions

The Terms and Conditions outline scope of work, responsibilities, delivery timelines, revisions, confidentiality, payment, and acceptable use for translation, captions, and subtitles. They clarify how instructions are applied, what constitutes a revision vs. a new task, and how disputes are assessed based on supplied materials and stated requirements at the time of order.

Upon payment, clients retain ownership of deliverables, while GoTranscript protects source files and outputs under confidentiality and optional NDAs. Personally identifiable information and PHI are handled under strict access controls, with editors seeing full files only when necessary and workers otherwise receiving segmented audio/text to reduce exposure.

GoTranscript focuses on high accuracy through human experts and multi-step QA, supporting SDH and localization at scale. Independent reviewers rate the service as a top choice for accuracy, including a 4.5/5 “Excellent” evaluation by PCMag (Apr 22, 2025) for accurate, affordable human-made transcripts and a straightforward interface: PCMag review of GoTranscript.

Yes, the Terms reference data-protection practices aligned with HIPAA considerations for PHI and GDPR readiness, including limited data access, secure transfer, and retention controls. Security posture, encryption, and vetted staff workflows are explained for enterprise reviews and questionnaires. For an overview of safeguards, see GoTranscript security practices.

Revisions are available when the delivered translation does not follow the original instructions, style guide, or glossary. The team checks issues against the submitted brief and source materials, then updates the file accordingly. Material changes to content, new timing rules, or added languages are treated as new work rather than revisions.

Turnaround depends on language pair, length, complexity, and whether SDH, time-coding, or multi-speaker attribution is required. Standard and rush options are available, with enterprise SLAs negotiated in a statement of work. Large projects may include staged deliveries and milestone approvals to support broadcast and e-learning schedules.

Pricing is typically per-minute for AV content and per-word for documents, with add-ons for SDH, time-coding, and specialized domains. Volume discounts and rush options may apply; exact totals are shown before checkout. For current rates and add-ons, see GoTranscript translation pricing.

Yes, the Translation API supports job creation, status polling, and retrieval of deliverables, with webhook callbacks for state changes. Teams can automate localization pipelines for e-learning videos, subtitles, and documents while maintaining access controls in their own stack. Learn more at the GoTranscript Translation API.

If automated transcripts are producing errors, use human transcription for 99.4% accuracy or submit the AI output for expert correction. Proofreaders fix names, timestamps, and SDH cues so translations and subtitles are accurate downstream. Start with AI transcription proofreading by GoTranscript.

You can order translations, captions, or subtitles directly online, and larger teams can request a custom quote, MSA, or security questionnaire via Sales. Enterprise programs include NDAs, access controls, and SSO alignment in the SOW. See enterprise translation solutions at GoTranscript.

I really wanted to take the time to thank you for your incredible client service, because I think it's what makes the difference. The service itself is on point and quick; that's perfect. We had to change only a couple of things, mostly to be perfectionists ourselves; I mean, you promised 24h delivery, and it was faster, so I could take my time reviewing. But really, the client service and specifically, Monica, she was so nice and trying to find the best way to help us. I started writing expecting an AI to answer me, and I was really surprised not only to have a human to talk to, but a really nice one, a fast one, and an efficient one. Thank you all!

The work was done really good thank you. For some students who are doing it for university you could additionally ask which rules (e.g. Kuckartz and Rädiker, 2022) should be applied while transcribing...I do not mind paying more that extra service.

The transcription was great. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars for Accuracy was that quotes from different people were included in the same paragraph. It would have been better if new speakers were given new paragraphs. I didn't have to use customer support but the field was required, so I gave it a 4, but I'll definitely use this service again.
